I literally got fidgety watching the blender guru's videos because i was having the hardest time drawing connections between what i knew in Maya and the donut tutorial in question, so I had to stop and look for a "maya-user-friendly" video. my mindset is now properly adjusted thanks to this. INCREDIBLY grateful!

I really wish someone could make turorials using industry standard keys. Blender keys are so much mental effort for simple selection and translation maneuvers. I understand the thought process for having the first letter of an action be the same as the keybind for beginners but in the long run the keybinds gets so messy and convoluted.

FYI in Blender 3.6 the "Only Selected Curve Keyframes" option is now found in Edit->Preferences->Animation and is called "Only Show Selected F-Curve Keyframes." Thank @CBaileyFilm for a fantastic tutorial.

I definitely think using the Industry Compatible mode might be a better option ... so many other tools use similar mappings (not just saying that because I'm so used to Maya). I'll leave it off for the sake of this tutorial though and see how I adjust.

Been using Maya for about 5 years. Started using it in college. Tried to get familiar with Blender about a year ago, but my fingers just didn't cooperate and everything felt unnatural. Found your tutorial and looking to give it another try.

I began my 3D journey with 3DSMax 6 then dabbled with Maya a bit and even a trial copy of C4D, but when I started concentrating on Blender again I found I made faster progress.

Blender is definitely one of the best Maya plug-ins out there.

Thank you! I wish there're Maya to different 3D software tutorials out there.
The comparison just make things much clearer of how things work in Maya and how things work in Blender. Much appreciated this.

I tried learning blender 2 times already and ran back to maya. I'll give your vid a shot. I know blender has some really great things to offer. I want to explore a maya to blender workflow. Maybe model in maya then rig animated and render in blender.

Holy crap it took you 10 hours to move the sphere to the vertex. In Maya you just hold V. I want to fall in love with Blender but damn

I had no idea Blender had realtime rendering, this entire time as a Maya student I was juggling Unreal Engine lessons to get realtime rendering. Blender is awesome!

As a Blender user, I had hoped this video would compare between Maya and Blender so I could learn Maya with it :‘)
