I have been going back and forth about whether to use Batocera or Emudeck on my Steam Deck that I'm turning into my retro-gaming station complete with CRT TV. I've decided to go with Batocera. Emudeck does have its advantages, but IMO Batocera has more. I use my PC to play my Steam games anyway. Now that my 1.5TB micro SD card will soon arrive from SanDick (complete with a free 64GB MicroSd card for a Nintendo Switch that came free with my order!) I'll be able to fit all my games from Atari 2600 though to Wii with Batocera and room to spare (i hope). I have a large Gamecube and PS2 collection and hope they will all fit.

This guide will help immensely.

For those trying to setup RPCS3 and want the steam deck controls to work, open the “pads” settings, change the handlers from keyboard to “Endev” switch the device to device/input/event14 and then set up your inputs!

Great guide. The only thing I would add is you must “Enable Network Sharing” on your pc or it will not connect to your Steam Deck over Wi-Fi.

Keep up the great work. I would love to see a video on transferring box art and videos from Launch Box/Big box to Batocera. Launch box downloads media in minutes while Batocera took 14 to 16 hrs to scrap a 128gb build.

Version 38 {latest} has compatability issues with the oled models - namely no WiFi or sound and the screen is rotated 90 degrees.
Screen rotation is an easy fix in settings.
Wired connection works and they working on a fix re WiFi and sound

Well done comprehensive and easy to follow you sir are the best … if using a Bluetooth controller do you need a Bluetooth receiver dongle plugged into a usb port in batocera to connect a Bluetooth controller

Brilliantly explained set up guide, thank you One question that I can't find an answer to anywhere. Does Batocera on Steam deck support Bluetooth headphones or is it controller only. Each time I try the headphones connect but then sound reverts back to the speakers?
