He was sick from an incurable bacterial infection, and he was clearly upset when he did make a mess. I couldn't scold him for being sick. I loved him too much.

Wow. Our experience has been completely opposite of almost all of this information. Our family has had 5 male Shih Tzus and 3 female Shih Tzus. All were altered and have been wonderful dogs! As sweet and loving as they are, the females were harder to potty train, they mark just as much as the males, they are more prone to run and they are sassier, spunkier and more independent in general. We wouldn’t trade any of them for anything in the world. We have adored them one and all! These little clowns are perfect companions!

I think you need to work on your titles. This is a shih tzu channel. Your previous video was titled why we should not get a FEMALE shih tzu then the very next one is the opposite, don’t get a male shih tzu’s. Well this is supposedly a shih tzu care channel so unless there is another sex I don’t know about, your titles for both videos should be along the lines of ‘things to be aware of when deciding to get a female/male shih tzu’ and not ‘don’t get one’. Just my two cents. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have a male Shih found him on the street a couple of yrs ago....he is about 3yrs old now....he is really smart, a good doggie....he is hearing impaired and we have worked out our sign language...but...If I could just get him to stop treating his bed like his girlfriend ....that would be great....I could live without seeing him mount the side of his bed....(Yyuukk!!)

Male Shih Tzus are AWFUL!! My parent's have had two of them, the first one wouldn't stop barking, unless he was sleeping. The second has bitten many people including all of us and he thinks he is the boss. I won't put up with his garbage but he just hides under my Mom when I try to correct his horribly selfish behavior. He's mostly a jerk to other dogs and thinks that he's supposed to bark whenever he wants something. He's growled at me when I've tried to stop him from scratching at my parent's door. Worst breed ever as far as I'm concerned, not cute, just annoying and self-absorbed. My Mom had to go to the emergency room for one of his bites, he's now registered with the County as a biter and if it happens again and there's a police report he will get put down. Here's hoping as he's the worst dog I've ever known and I've been a dog sitter much of my life. I'd take a Pit Bull any day over an ugly Shih Tzu.
