The most disturbing part of this story: “This is probably not the end of Daniel Auderer’s police career.”. Are you kidding? His statement was an automatic failure of ANY psychological exam.

He was fired due to public pressure, not because the police department thought he did something wrong. Bad optics equals to a PR nightmare. It is all just to keep up appearances. That is why it took so long and that is why he will get another job in law enforcement somewhere else.

Why'd it take so long? Every other emergency vehicle I've seen has lights and siren and slows to a crawl at intersections but this guy was going hell bent and she didn't have a prayer.

I support our men and women in blue, but why are there so many officers that have no empathy, no deescalation skills, quick to anger and lack common sense? Is it poor recruiting? Inadequate training? Incompetent supervision? Inept leadership? Or lack of accountability and oversight from political leaders?
