Camera captures coyote attacking toddler in Scottsdale

A mother in Scottsdale was shocked to see a coyote walk into her front yard and attack her young child.

I follow these attacks. Being a farmer, I'm well-acquainted with coyotes and coywolves. The most disturbing part of this incident is that the coyote stalked them and watched them get out of the car, like the kid was his doordash meal

We always warned our kids not to be out in the yard alone when they were little because of the coyotes here in California. Even in broad daylight

Predators recognize babies. No babies should be alone for one second unless they are behind a fence. Can't be mad at the animals for doing what comes naturally. If you live where there are coyotes and you have little ones, never leave them unsupervised outside, even for a second.

Glad they are ok. Living in the country in Texas, there was one in the middle of the street one morning while taking my daughter to school. I didn't see it until she asked, "Mom, what kind of dog is that?"

If the creatures that coyotes normally prey upon become absent, human toddlers become an adequate food replacement. This isn't abnormal behavior. Thinking that they'll do 'nothing' and simply starve is actually illogical. Everything eats something to survive. Especially in an arid desert like Scottsdale Arizona.

I’m surprised the coyote went after something so big. You hear of chihuahuas being victims, but rarely children.

We have coyotes walking around our yards front and back yards at noon at 3am at 3pm at 700am at 10am it doesnt matter they come whether you are standing there or not i had three run past me while i was getting groceries from my car i had a coyote run under my garage door into my open bathroom door to grab my cat it killed it. My grandson was with me it was scarey.
