Coyote Attacks, Bites Child Walking With Mother In Moraga Neighborhood

A coyote attacked and bit a child walking with a parent in a Moraga neighborhood Tuesday morning, and authorities were trying to determine if it is the same one responsible for other attacks in the Lamorinda area. Don Ford reports. (2/16/21)

I saw two coyotes in my Richmond neighborhood in the other night. I was observing within my car following them a bit. They were so tactically keen. Definitely scared to walk in the night around my neighborhood for a while.

This is why you always carry a weapon. As humans were so complacent with being the top predator that when things like this happen there’s nothing but fear in the community. These were completely preventable, stay vigilant, and aware of your surroundings.

I have been seeing them more and more when I drive home at midnight.There was one in the Daly. In and out burger parking lot the other night. They seem les afraid of humans than they used to be. They are getting bold

I hope that child is going to be ok but why are people so shocked that this happens to them? Especially after how many coyote attacks in that area? Theres another predator out there too. Mountain lions. You gotta carry something folks. Especially with kids or small dog.

They’re everywhere nowadays. Over in Glendale, CA they’re walking around during the day without a care in the world. I saw one on my walk and it tried to come near me. Luckily I was wearing fairly thick gloves so I wasn’t too worried about having to fight it. I started running after it and it ran off into someone’s yard. I guess if you show them that your not afraid to pursue them they’ll leave you alone 🤷‍♂️

A coyote was stalking me today in Danville. I had to ran up to some people who scared it away.

I don't know how you are go about life when a coyote sees you as easy prey. Like, you should never bé relaxed with a child, as a Guardian. Hope the child recovers well and all but damn, be aware of your area and stay tough folks.

Get bear spray. It will make things a lot easier on you. Hunting them down isn't hard if you carry a hand gun, and they come toward you, unless you're too squeamish to kill the coyote, and let it go maul some other person's child, or pet. They breed at such a fast rate that once they are causing problems them the numbers of them are out of control. These game commissioners, and wildlife biologist are not worth their pay. We have one running our back property, and it won't be much longer.
