I wish iPhone have filename YEAR-MONTH-DATE-TimeSTamp like Samsung instead of IMG_NUMBER. I really dont understand iPhone filenaming logic; after years and moving images/videos to laptop, you have identical names.

Only problem is that my “save to file” isn’t in green to add.

When you try to put that file back in your photos it automatically takes the old name back it’s not a Good solution it only keeps the file name in your files if you try to send it to anyone it automatically takes the original name if you try to move the file anywhere else in your phone it automatically takes the original name

Apple should be fired for this ridiculous inconvenience alone. For such an ‘innovative’ company this is literally stupid.

Oh my gosh, what a stupid way to have to rename a file! I know this is Apple's fault; so I thank you for showing this. Apple, Why not KISS (Keep it simple stupid!)...On the Mac you just rt click and rename, why would Apple make it so difficult to rename a file when it is long established, even on their own OS?

Apple came up with an outrageous and very inefficient process. I just switched over from android and all you have to do is tap on the file name and change it! Sometimes I’m not sure if I made the right decision to move to iOS!

Thank you. That’s very helpful. Wish Apple could just add a rename option to the menu rather than having follow all those steps.

To upload to YouTube it is from photos not the file folder. iPhone is inferior and has dumb stuff like this in it. Literally can’t
Even name a file I want to upload to YouTube. It’s an Seo tip. Such a simple thing apple can’t do.

Except if you rename a file in the Files App, it doesn’t ACTUALLY rename it. Meaning, if you then save whatever it is back to your phone, it still has the original file name it automatically created. THAT’S what I’m trying to figure out.

There is no Rename option for images I've exported from Photoshop. Why is that??

Is it possible to insert pictures on the folder? For example a logo of a brand and it displays the logo on the folder

This seems to complicated.. why is iphone making the image/video file name so long. they used to be short and simple file name (ie., IMG_5858.jpg). Is there a way to change the settings?

Thanks for addressing an important issue in the form of a workable tip - as I always want to add User-Friendly names as well to Photos. I guess in your procedure, the file is duplicated in two places. Or is it? May you should suggest Moving the Photo File to FILES instead of Copy/Save? Thanks Sri.

Video should be called how to duplicate a photo in a folder that’s less convenient to access.
