In this video, I'm showing you how to take a list of names from a simple text file and use them to batch rename files on macOS.

I'll be using the "Rename from file list" feature in my A Better Finder Rename 11 batch file renamer. The text list can be prepared in any text editor, note taking app, word processor, etc.. but you will probably need to download a free plain text editor such as BBEdit, Nova, etc.. to finalize the list.

Thank you for this. Such a shame that name mangler doesn't offer the option to add to the beginning or end of existing file name in this advanced rename option.

Hi. How come each time I perform a batch rename from a csv file, the new names all have " marks before and after the name. The csv file and hte excel file I generated them from both do not have them. For example, I am renaming MHP - Copy 1.xlsx and my csv file list has MHP - Aguilar, Jazlynne.xlsx as the first new name to execute, but instead the result is "MHP - Aguilar, Jazlynne.xlsx"

It is not a huge problem, but I would much rather not have the " marks.
