Agree with your first tip. With the thousands of similar listings on eBay, you have to make sure that your product is high quality. Thanks for this, man!

Hey 👋 Great video tips just stumbled upon your site. I have a question that I need help with. I have over 100 plus sales I'm doing everything that I'm supposed to do to become top rated seller. Now, when I see if they evaluate today, I would be top rated. Why haven't I gotten it yet? What am I missing?

I have a question. Have any of your button up / dress shirts been selling ? I have a lot of good ones and I don’t think any have sold. Tommy Hilfiger, banana republic etc. I’m not sure if my prices are bad or listing is.

a little bit to think about:
Imagine you have a shop at the mall. Everything is nice, you have
a nice steady footfall outside your shop and all your items are
nicely presented in the shop window. Looks like an ideal spot to
sell a lot of merchandise.
But as soon as your potential buyers enter your shop to check
more closely on an item, they liked at your window, here come
30-40 dudes with placards offering a cheaper price for the same
or similar items. The dudes have permission from the mall to
do so as they have paid for it. Would your shop survive for long,
would you get a lot of transactions? Is it even legal?
Probably not.
But this is exactly what eBay is doing with every single listing.
This is where promoted ads go, into your listing.
eBay suggests paying for promotions yourself (This is why they
deliberately slow down all the sales, to force you to spend on
useless promotions. The problem is, it does not remove all that
mess from your listing, it only adds you to your competitor's items
(depending on how much you have paid). Also, your item's price
needs to be smaller than the competitor's price, otherwise,
nobody will choose you.
The only winners here are cheap overseas sellers. Regional
filters do not work inside the item's listing. Meaning even if
somebody found a local retailer, they will get a portion of
overseas cheaper offers inside of every listing. It is very
tempting to spend less.
eBay is a very unfair platform. They use your attractive
listing to sell more cheap overseas merchandise. It serves as
a gateway.

I sell on ebay leather and quality handmade knives which are expensive, I have found that ebay buyers have a garage sale mentality they expect to buy a $150.00 knife for $115.00 or less for example when I paid full price and they want free shipping too. This ends up in a loss and not a profit with ebay fees. Buyers do not care what you paid they want it dirt cheap and a deal a bargain that is what I am experiencing selling. The other thing is watchers of your item does not mean one of those watchers will buy your item. If your listing goes to the last day or hours before it ends and no bids on the last day it will not sell. These are just curious lookers to see if your item sells who cannot afford to buy your product. So selling knives like Spyderco and GEC is a challenge with too many competitors, and you have to sell yours for less and take a loss as well. I guess it depends what you sell on ebay it looks like clothing and other stuff are a better option . This lousy economy from the current leaders at the capital make things even worse people just are more careful what they buy. Because many people are in debt and only looking for deals low prices . On top of all this the lousy 87, 000 hired IRS will be coming after ebay sellers next year in taxes selling over $600.00 of goods this hits the poor fixed income sellers trying to make extra money. Best solution vote Republican in November and 2024 .

I never buy items if they are too cheap with free shipping. That is an indication that a seller is justvtrying to make a quick buck and has properly never tested an item properly for sale. I have bought a few electronics advertised in working condition
cheap before and they where all broken but serviceable. The sellers ended up refunding my money, and letting me keep the item's. They also lost out on shipping which is not very smart. They are satified if a customer buys an item cheap so the can buy a video game, comic book, movie, or whatever low cost items they may consume with the earned money while living under low costs of living like mommy and daddy's house.

The number of sales means nothing if you're not making any money.

Thank you for all your information. Could you tell us an average number of returns you get each month being a Top Rated Seller Plus? I have the opportunity to add this to my store but the fear of many returns with clothing is daunting. Did your sales increase enough to offset the returns?

Question on pricing. Do you price your shirts higher, lower or in the middle of other listings? I know you offer or best offer also. Just wondering where to initially price an item. Doing a shipping vid would also be great! I would love to see how you ship and the products you use. You could link the products via Amazon and maybe get some buyer commissions.

Why does sell through rate matter so much? If the listing is quality, the item is good, you have good return policies and good service why not charge a Premium price lower your sell through maintain you listing regiment. Eventually your inventory levels will increase and eventually hit the same #of sales per day you do now to match your listing pattern and you will make more money. Assuming of course you have the storage capacity to for example bring your store to 1500 items

Ok so he here is kinda conflating ‘sellthrough’ with ‘conversion’ rates. The 2.4% is not a measure of sell through in the way he describes it in the video, but rather the ratio of views to sales. Meaning for every 1000 views he gets on his listings, he makes 24 sales. The sell through can be calculated as he shows later on by active vs sold listings.
