Well put. McDowell's on the mark, context and culture are huge when a book is written over roughly 1, 500 years by many authors. The through line on theme is astounding. Prophesy and fulfillment is mind blowing, amazing, and at times nearly terrifying. The historic record and archeology stand along side the narrative. Astounding book, unique in all of antiquity.

Two things can not be true at the point of contradiction. That’s simply how logic works. I agree, contradictions do not mean something is out right false, but, it does call o to question the reliability of something.

"Tensions" is what you call a contradiction when you want to minimize the significance of the contradiction.

I agree that contradictions in the bible do not invalidate Christianity, but in my opinion, using minimizing language is a red flag if the credibility of the speaker is a factor of the validity of an argument.

People who worship the Bible will simply close their eyes and ears whenever they discover something off in the Bible. I Worship God, not what people wrote about God.

And if it is not the word of God, what makes you think that the story of Jesus' resurrection is in any way true?

Theres logical explanations to all the supposed contradictions I’ve heard about. It’s just men that aren’t smart enough or knowledgeable enough to understand history or the people that were writing at the time

Finding the body of Jesus doesn't disprove Christianity either. The resurrection could have been a spiritual one.

The most historically probable explanation of the empty tomb is that Pilate had it removed to fake the resurrection. This would motivate his disciple to continue teaching the extremely pro-Roman message of Jesus, plus it would give Pilate an excellent method to exact revenge on the religious leaders for forcing him to crucify Jesus. Also, the Romans were the only ones with the ability to pull it off. Ability + motive = historical probability.

They’re not actually contradicting. No place in scripture, are two verses actually trying to say two entirely different things, in two opposite context to covey a totally opposite message from each other.
When people say this, it’s their error, not God’s.
Many “contradictions” are so tiny and petty that they don’t even apply, yet people are so obsessed with finding them, they’ll make them up themselves, and blame it on scripture. I’ve come across many of these types of people.

God never claimed that the Bible was perfect. In fact if you read the entire Bible, you won't find one verse that refers to the Bible we have today. Christianity is not based on the writings of the Bible. Those that say the Bible is the perfect word of God simply do not read the Bible enough.

There are mamu good moral amd wise teachings mixed with many immoral teachings which proofs thst the book is not accurate representation of the great teacher Isus.

Be careful because you inadvertently lend support to Islam with this kind of reasoning. They also argue Jesus is in heaven.
