Really respect your content and approach to testing. All based on data and facts. Of course that fork couldn't have been different apart from different default settings. Glad there is an analysis I can give link to when someone starts talking about it. Alright!

I was really wondering about this, the only thing that worked to improve my quad was the tpa, wish both would add the raceflight type tpa.
It is funny with people saying try this w with this q. 😂

UAV tech posts video, yes! excitement reads video title <insert EMU Flight, FL1 or some other non BF related content> heart sinks but I watch anyway 🤣 Thanks for the video

excellent Mark! I am really glad you are tracking this development. I'm interested to see how this progresses. All good from a user stand point I think, as long as people can get past the hype and placebo traps.

Oh and yes emuboost (in 0.2.8) works in angle mode and that’s my favorite thing about emuflight 😀

I really hoping EMU becomes a simplified version of BetaFlight for us old farts who like to tune PIDs the old way without having to mess with filters.
It would be cool to see you set up a quad from scratch on EMU.

Hi mark and thank you for your time and effort to bring this informational videos. Beside the imu-f placebo, what I‘d like to understand is a difference between emu and BF in general ( in a for dummies way...sorry for the ignorance), I mean which combination of BF pieces (3.5 - 4.0 - 4.1) and which custom added ones from the emu flight developers ? What can I do to get BF to behave like Emu?
I use mainly BF 3.5.7 because like many others, I found a good configuration, but propwash handling and lock feel it’s not so good. With BF 4.0 ( meh) and Bf 4.1+rpm filters ( unflyable ) I was kinda disappointed. No satisfaction following community presets ( that I cannot found for 4.1 ) . With emu I found a good setup straight away, is it placebo? it’s not in propwash handling for me, I pushed emu boost to 500 ( limit 5 ) following Pierre configuration ( advertised from botgrinder ) and it’s locked for sure, maybe there is some lag? Probably a Little more but I cannot say . I will try to make comparison of BF 3.5 -> emu flying them one after the other to understand the placebo 😂😉

Any chance you will do this again? This video is now quite outdated :)

+1👍 I'm still all-in on Emu; i'm running dev versions where bug fixes & and new features are in progress.
I feel like it's simpler to "get" & configure than the BeF 4.0.x+ features, but such is just another opinion after all.
I have two FC's, one a helio, with Marinus' R9b IMUF code+Emu 0.1.0 & for fact it is better than BuF+"FU". The non-helio testing newer dev versions.
This all started because Marinus was willing to "fix" IMUF code, people tested and liked it, then Emu grew from such. The small group realized they could put Kalman on all the things, so a handful of regular people/coders are trying to do their best. no promises were made and no expertise were implied. That's my take. I'm not an FC dev, but i'm happy to be a contributor. My computer expertise has helped the project in a very minor way, but so happy to do so and will continue to do so with enthusiasm ;)

So for a emax Th 2 racer it’s good to use emu flight and the emu boost ? Or just stick with beta flight

Is iterm calculated the same way in bf 4.1 and emuflight? Except iterm decay/relax, obviously.

please review the 0.2 rc release and teach us how to tune with emu :) thanks

But a you can have 32k/32k on emuflight which is more than 8k/8k and as a distant relative/close friend told me once, bigger numbers = better
NIce vid man, thanks for sharing

nice video! IMUF doesn't work on non helio FC's, I didn't know it! - Luckily I didn't hype it in my videos :D But I can understand the placebo effect. Emu is a fork of Butter 3.5 - Butter a fork of BF. And even when I fly my quads with Bf 4.1 compared to 3.5 - BF 3.5 flies better imo. I have also tested Emuflight on one of my heliospring quads, couldn't feel a difference to BF 3.5.7 with IMUF 1.1.0 - But BF doesn't support the Heliospring FC anymore, so I will use Emuflight from now on, on my Helio-Quads and I'm curious about their future releases.

So in other words you can tune BF3.5 to feel like it flies better, and better sounding motors, than BF4.1 which is apparently what current stock EF is. When u read the comments on the JB EF video you see lots of people saying that the same problem-quad that JB has been struggling with flies better (less "bobbles") and motors sound better on EF vs BF4.1. So why are so many comments on the video saying this? Also in the JB EF video the motors definitely sound different going form BF4.1 ->EF but i don't know what sound is supposed to be the better motor sound. Personally i have no opinion as I'm not going to bother with EF just yet.
