I remember buying this in 66 and just staring at the album cover I think it was the back cover where it says who sang what and I could not figure out for the life of me why John only had two songs. As the years passed finally figured out that there was a U.K. version and I like that one a hell of a lot more than the American version.

The REVOLUTION began with "Rubber Soul".

I live in Switzerland and recently picked up a German mid 70s Apple pressing of Magical Mystery Tour. Absolutely amazing sounding LP. I imagine the German Apple Revolver is of the same quality. The early Hör Zu Odeon labels are very common to find here.

Love your videos. I listen to my CDs. They all sound great. 2009, stereo and mono. Also the 2022 remix and mono from boxset in 2022! All fantastic.
Also, I have the American copy from my U.S. Albums box. You also get other songs on Yesterday and Today. All in Mono and Stereo!

I have an original UK mono pressing with the different mixing of "Tomorrow Never Knows".

I noticed that the first Capitol pressing of Revolver has the lead guitar passage on "Here, There and Everywhere" is quite loud and very noticeable. Later pressings I've encountered had this passage not buried but hidden, almost out of phase. Then after McCartney sings, But to love her is to need her" it shifts back to the left channel back again. Especially after the second time.

The first pressing Japanese Revolver OP7600 sounds loud and clear—a really engaging listen—but the second pressing AP8443 cleans up some of the rough lively edges for a better balance overall. Great dynamics on those AAA Japanese Revolver pressings. The 80s mono release sounds excellent too.

Thanks for the post man! Excellent. For me my preferences are the 1966 German white label and my UK first pressing. The new remix is good. And the new box with outtakes are amazing.

I had a German pressing with a blue label and a shiny cover it was the best day ever heard

Love the video! So would the Japan Apple be the same as the German Apple of Revolver?

When it comes to the German "big bass" version, something he left out is you must pay attention to the matrix number more than anything, more specifically the 3rd cutting from the mid 70's to early 80's, with no dash (-) in between the A1/B1 at the end of the matrix number/runout:

SHZE 186-A 04097-A1
SHZE 186-B 04097-B1
_or_
04097-A1
04097-B1

If there's a dash in between A-1/B-1, leave it alone.. That's still 2nd cut from HörZu with lesser sound quality. Just a tip! 👍

I have the album but not the jacket. Bought it in a thrift store for one dollar.

C1 for stereo, 2014 for Mono. Quiet vinyl and perfect mastering. Japan copies used YEX UK stampers.

Can you share the matrix for the German good pressing? I see there are a couple of versions listed

British mono is the best because that is the order and sound the Beatles wanted

What do you mean truncated? Which tracks ? Why do you mean?

Nice overview, thanks. American Beatle records are useless. The less said about them the better. Wish they would re-release the 2014 monos. I still love my original 60's Parlophone issues.
