Acer Nitro 5 user here. I've have an AN515-54 for nearly 2 years now, and I managed to keep it cool by replacing thermal paste and replacing thermal pads with K5-pro. It helps a LOT to undervolt. If you don't feel like messing around inside your laptop, UNDERVOLT IT! I GET IDLE TEMPS AS LOW AS 95°F NOW COMPARED TO 140°F BEFORE!! The GPU doesn't even go past 165°F after the undervolt!

I'd like to visit Microcenter as well, the only problem is that the nearest Microcenter is around 7000 km away.

I recently bought Acer Nitro 5 too with i5 12th Gen, DDR4 16GB and RTX 3050! And it was worth it to have one of those!

Probably the coolest part about gameing laptops is that the 15 year old ones look the same as the 2 week old ones when you look inside but still have completly different performance

yes, they keep cool by limiting cpu/gpu performance aka thermal throttling. gosh, i hate new, 'slim' laptops nowadays but had to use them for my work. wished laptops stay thick so they can put bigger heatsink + fan there while the companies shrink the die. playing games today are like no no when on the laptop.

as an owner of that EXACT laptop, it doesent stay cool, keyboard (where the most heat is transfered on the up side) is almost always warm, and with harder games it can get HOT, like hold down a button for a bit and it starts hurting hot, im not sure if my has some kind of an overheating problem, since it was fenomenal performance wise a year and a half ago, recently, it got so bad, i cannot play almost anything above 30-40fps. I saw a guy saying its the best laptop he ever had, but he has a better processor and a much better graphics card (mine has a 1650Ti mobile), and to be honest, when i got it, i would heavily recommend it, but in the state it is now, i would feel bad selling it to someone at 50% of the price.

Have Nitro 5, IETS 500 Laptop Cooler and Disable Turbo on ThrottleStop helps a ton. Plus maintenance of Thermal Paste and Pads too. In any gaming laptops IMO.
