I have a similar dell laptop, what u gotta do is simple just clean the fan and the vent every 1-2 months as dust gets trapped real fast and there's a significant difference every time

If that is a latitude 7490 with an i7 there is literally nothing you can do to keep it from overheating under load even. paste replaced, direct airflow with a second fan, still hits 100c and throttles instantly in cinebench. But in normal use cases you can even have it on a bed and it doesn't even make enough heat to need to try to turn on the fan. Also the bumps on the bottom are good enough for airflow as long as it's on a flat surface

2025 randomly watched this video
Checked hw monitor about all things
My cpu min temp 40 max 75
My gpu max was 55
My battery health was 94 percent wear 6
I was shocked after this battery
Because i purchased 2 mobiles in this period
One phone health currently 78
But how xiomi laptop gives 94 after 5 years

If your laptop emits more heat and coincidentally your laptop's internal battery started misbehaving or not giving backup...then it's not coincidence. The battery is damaged and it's producing extra heat which need to be replaced.

i love playing sims4 on my Huawei laptop with intel core i5 and 8GB ram(2022).but after a short time i notice how hot the laptop gets.i will put a book under it to see if the heat might be reduced a bit while playing.I'm really afraid sometimes that the laptop might not work anymore because of this

You know, if u have a cooling pad, u can remove upper cage of that, it will really help cool your laptop very much compared to including cage because before most of the area is covered, ofc, but now all air will directly go underneath to your laptop. But i will also prefer to clean that cooling pad after every 2weeks or 1 month. And dont forget to cover the parts where the usb cabels are connected.
