Yeah in Paraguay we drink it ice cold, It's called Terere, it's so fucking pleasing to drink in hot days, we also have Mate (Hot version), although it's more common in Argentina since the weather is a little cooler there, and brazil has the Chimarrão.


Idk what's the matter with North Americans calling it grass like it is weird or smth, it's quite literally tea, but the filter is in the straw instead of surrounding the herb so you can use it multiple times before it runs out of flavor 😂

People really getting crazy over this when it takes more gear and steps to brew a single cup of coffee in a cheap coffee maker, or to brew a cup of tea using proper leaves.

Have people in these comments never... had tea? Like actual tea? Non american tea, where you fill a filter with the leaves and then steep it after using a teapot? I swear people here are acting like something like this looks weird when it is LITERALLY just like drinking tea with a filter built into the straw, and it's refillable, which sounds amazing.

What is yerba mate? Ive never heard of it until these shorts started appearing, but it sounds so relaxing to drink

I was born in South America and i drink Mate every single day, i drink hot Mate in the morning, or in winter. And cold Mate wich we call "Tereré" during the day or hot weather overall. I grew up drinking Mate so it's a cultural thing over here. Almost every Household has Yerba Mate.

Here in syria we drink it in a cup that is designed for it it isnt too big nor too small. And we dont do that process of putting water then waiting for it to soak we just pour water and drink it
