WOW! I used to be a whiz at Windows 7 & 10 but Windows 11 throws me for a loop many times. I only needed to do Windows update ( which I do daily ) and then the Disk Cleanup to remove thumbnails and restart my computer and wham! they're back!! Kudos to you my friend as you know your stuff. Thank you so much. I often forget about the built-in Disk Cleanup feature since I use a freeware program called CCleaner usually to handle the leftover junk on my laptop. Have a great day.

Thanks! I had forgotten that I had set Win11 to performance mode to kill the bloat. Ticking that one box back in performance fixed me up.

Windows 11 is the worst update since windows 8

Those are file thumbnails though, the Issue with windows 11 is that Folder thumbnails dont show.
