I didn't realize when I bought this program that I would have a couple advanced engineering degrees by the time I got the game to run ok-ish...

Tbh the biggest and best knowledge I ever got is know that Entrance>pipes>Exit it just helps you so much and prioritizing moving around and knowing the main logistics.

I've often been complimented on my pipe laying, but this video was helpful all the same 👍

I super appreciate all these videos, I've just picked up the game but used to get bopped at the first 20-30 cycles, now I'm like 150+ cycles.
Really good tips from all your tutorial videos to keep it all running efficiently and you have a nice voice to just comprehend these complex ideas.

Just going to say that your tutorials are amazing. I gave up on the game because of myself being bad ( and hating Slime biomes). But those are starting to give me a boost to get back into the game to actually try to finish this! Thanks a lot for them

i always wanted to know how to make "piping arrows!" - thank you so much you saved my life in ONI. i can now retire to a life of luxury!

thank you for teaching me that gas filters are pretty much useless.

I don't know if you'll ever read this Magnet but you're AN AMAZING PERSON. Thanks for taking the time to make tutorials like this.

Really awesome you're taking the time to put together these videos. Thank you so much :)

i noticed it's been a year since you made this and your description has been lacking of late, so i figure i'd help out with the tedium of chapters

00:00 - flow direction
10:20 - distribution
15:00 - storage
22:15 - pipe types
25:00 - processing
34:00 - bathrooms
note: at the 36 minute mark i get another 'eureka' moment as Magnet connects a pipe to the green icon of a bridge and talks about prioritizing that input before the input going into the white icon of the bridge...which makes his "reverse" piping system for the storage make a little more sense now. At this point i'm starting to think that the entire concept of the 'bridge' is so counter intuitive that Klei really should have warned us n00bs this game is actually supposed to be called "bridge documentation not included"
note: at the 38 minute mark Magnet digresses into temperature management using a refinery. yeah, fu Magnet, now i know why you didn't do chapters for this, mr A.D.D.
47:00 - gas management
note: at the 53 minute mark i get another epiphany as Magnet demonstrates a gas vent placed directing on a line of pipe, hooked up to automation, that acts as a mini-filter...which is really annoying because it reminds me of the constant n00b mistake i make caused by the visual aesthetics of the actual gas filter - i keep thinking that gold output icon is venting directly out into the atmosphere.
55:55 - shutoff valves
note: basically, this section is about temperature management concepts with practical lessons about how useful a particular "flushing" method using particular automation units helps maximize the benefits of using shutoff valves
01:10:10 - practical demonstration

This is super helpful! Finally my pawn will no longer suffer like a sickly pug while fighting for air :)

i make sure from the beginning i have 1 Main watertank were all my water goes and then pump needed water from there, that makes the pipng most of the time easier.
What i like to do as well is to combine the water storage, also put the liquidstorage building in my pool of liquid, with that i can alsmost double my pools without wasting more space.

These videos are really amazing. Insanely helpful. Thanks so much!

Great tutorial. Kinda on developers to fix it. Pipe should not have direction associated with it. Once your top pump is off the water should flow back

Many thank yous.

My God you're good with the mouse. Every time I try to do something quickly I make mistakes.

I recently came across your vids as I just started playing after having owned the game for years but never playing more than 15 mins. Firstly, love your vids dude, inspirational in a few ways. Kudos.

My thing is, after watching multiple vids and staring a few times over again with info, from my point of view at least, I can see everything done far more efficiently by doing the (more or less) exact opposite. I find it odd, wanted to mention.

i.e. Rather than wasting resources pumping in oxygen (or focusing on), I would just firstly extract ALL gasses into a central location, lower, allowing them to self separate. Because physics.
Same theory can be applied over multiple densities of matter, was curious on your thoughts.

And thanks again for the awesome vids, just a little low in volume is my worst critique.

*Edit: I missed the 'other' from "ALL other gasses", as is, your filtering in what you want, and extracting anything else to allow for 'self separation', which it obviously seems you need at a later point anyway.

Apologies for missing that, it makes what I said unclear.

I'm noticing my pipes turning yellow over time in the piping overlay and they aren't radiant pipes. I have a feeling that they might have something to do with the liquids inside sitting for a long time. Is that the case? and if so how do I prevent liquids from sitting or keep liquids moving when structures like the lavatory or sinks can only take in so much water? Could I perhaps design some automation to only send liquid to the structure when it's internal storage falls below a certain amount? Would the game let you do that? Thanks!

27:30 a minute. are you telling me (implying actually) that your earlier talk about 'bridges' intercepting flow works exactly like that for that line of liquid storage?!?!? that would mean that it's not so much the physical bridge module itself that's "intercepting" but the white input icon thingy.
