Managing your Gases! - Oxygen Not Included Tutorial/Guide

Managing gases in your colony very quickly becomes an important logistical task in Oxygen Not Included. Do you have high enough oxygen pressure, are you keeping away from carbon dioxide and getting it away fro where your duplicants live and work, is your base filling with hydrogen, contaminated oxygen, or chlorine? Using a system of oxygen generators, scrubbers, pumps, and doors you can keep your duplicants healthy and happy and keep your gases under control!

I think a cool game mode variation for this game cold be "survival mode" where you cant see what is around you, it all black you have to actually dig to a place to see it. it would add much greater feeling of mystery and exploration.

The biggest problem is not the oxygen, it's the pressure. The dupes inhale 50 times more gas than they exhale, so the total pressure keeps dropping. They really need to fix that, the dupes should be exploding!

g is not gallons. It's grams. It would be gal/s if it were gallons, unless the game devs are uneducated.

First of all, don't eat beans, they'll make a lot of gases.

Sand is no problem. You can grind most rock into sand: obsidian, sandstone, igneous rock, even clay to ceramic to sand if necessary.

Thanks for the detailed INFO - helped me out. just started the game and I am on the fence. While I could be wrong (because I am so new to the game) it doesn't seem to be able to set up a self-sustaining biome - there is always a dwindling resource. I love the pressure aspect, gas, liquid aspect and that keeps my interested peaked. Would love to see a version of this on Subnautica. Thanks again for help! Next base I am going to try a diamond shape overall base and diamond shaped "pods" to help sort gases.

Hey, I saw some guy sayin that electrolyzer might use more water than it needs if provided so. Feeding it max liquid pipe capacity is 10 times what it actually needs and yet it uses it all. It might not be the only object like that

hey, I had this idea of using the electrolyzer to power my hydrogen genorator as well as give oxygen to my colony, but I couldn't get the gas pumps to work so I could filter the gases into different pipes because they just wouldn't pump, would you know why this is the case? Because if I can do this then I'm pretty sure I just win the game.

I'm at a point in the game with gas vents over pressured in all areas, how does one deal with getting rid of unwanted gasses so that my filters can actually pump gasses I need and not get clogged by unwanted gasses because they have no where to escape anymore?

i just started playing and my thing is that i use up food i am always on th edge of starving seeds die after 3 turns and dont see any more after they are all gone so then mush bars but dirt is also limited and so... is there a way to get more seeds without finding them in cracks?or ultimately an easy way not to starve to death?
