Anyone remember the Asus Transformer Prime? A decade old tablet now but still one of the best implementations of keyboard and tablet: supported by its own hinge and an additional battery to boot. Still, being an Android tablet it had its fair share of problems.

Neither the clone nor the killer... Just a competition to Samsung's tablet range😅

Split screen shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you go into the developer settings (after you enabled it), there's a setting(s) to force any app into split screen. If the app is made half decent it will work quite well. I've been using it for years to watch YouTube and play games. That's also not even on a tablet (Xiaomi Remi Note 10Pro). Definitely give it a try!

I wish he covered the software experience more since it's been an issue in recent OnePlus phones.

A lot of companies misinterpret the iPad’s success by trying to make better hardware at a cheaper price, but the iPad it’s not a hardware product, it’s a software one. No matter how good your hardware is… if you don’t have the software to back it up, everything else is meaningless. That is why people don’t want anything but an iPad (when it comes to tablets).

The biggest issue I have with Android tablets, even though I own a Tab S7 plus, is that a lot apps aren’t optimized for android tablets. Media consumption is great, just not that good for productivity/work.

For the majority of tablet buyers/enthusiasts, yes, we can consider it an iPad killer. However, personally, I've never viewed the iPad as a mass product, even though it is. Its use seems to be specific and specialized. I recently sold my iPad because I couldn't find a real purpose for it during my day-to-day simple tasks, the girl who bought it has some kind of marketing job and she was astonished by how useful the iPad could be for her 😅
Best regards from Brazil!

I bought one of these 2 weeks ago. Absolutely love it. I don't use it except for watching shows and listening to music or browsing the web. It does everything I need for a bargain and it's powerful and has a very decent battery life. I get an average of 10 hour screen on time.

It's not trying to be killer, it's just finally a decent android alternative. That's all it's aiming to be

Edit: I make a random comment and of course it's a hit tweet. Ughh. Pls don't take this that seriously, and sorry Marques if this seemed critical, enjoyed the video and appreciate your opinions as always, just kinda disagreed with the title, but the clickbait rocked because it definitely got engagement from me. Hoping to get this tablet later this year, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

That slicing the middle is quite nicely done! 😮

It definitely won't make people switch from the iPad, but mainly targeted at OnePlus or even general Android users. 🤷

Thanks for the review. I still use my Huawei MediaPad M5, mainly just for content consumption (Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer, etc) when travelling and still find it ideal - great battery life, USB-C charging, MicroSD card slot for expansion. It cost me £269 over 5 years ago and still going strong!

The best Android tablet I've ever owned is actually a Chromebook - the OG Lenovo Duet. 8 years of updates (you'll be lucky to see 2-3 on an *actual* Android tablet), solid hardware - the 1200p screen is still a highlight, and full access to the Play Store. Worth a thought if you're in the market for something like this.

Would love to see a comparison between this and the Pixel tablet once it finally ships in June

As a windows and android person, even I got an iPad Pro to learn graphic design because of Procreate. There is certain stuff that no one does better.

I feel like most people who use tablets don't really care about the apps, they just use a web browser, email, video calls, news apps, youtube, netflix, etc. The exception would be kids who play games but there's no shortage of those on Android. I rarely see people with more than a page or two of apps on their home screens on any brand of tablet
