Fact-checking VP debate immigration, abortion claims

Показать описание
The two major party vice presidential nominees met for their only debate of the 2024 election Tuesday night in New York City.
The debate, hosted by CBS News, gave voters an opportunity to hear from Sen. JD Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and hear their tickets' positions on immigration, abortion, the war in the Middle East, the economy, the peaceful transition of power and other policy issues.
PBS News' partners at @politifact noted several times that Walz and Vance either misspoke or made false statements during the debate. PolitiFact editor-in-chief Katie Sanders provides context on some of their claims about immigration and abortion.
