What Are the 10 Days of Awe?

In this episode of the Curt Landry Podcast, Rabbi Curt and Darrell Puckett discuss the unique time between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, a 10 day period known as the Days of Awe. It’s a period of introspection leading to transformation. It’s a time of breaking soul ties, cutting off generational curses and unhealthy habits and patterns. We’re transformed by knowing our identity in Jesus, but before we can perceive who we are in Jesus, we must perceive who God is as Father. Rabbi shares how God’s relational nature is reflected in the feasts and encourages the listener to embrace this holy time of mercy, grace and repentance.

Curt, how do Gentiles follow and practice the Appointed Times of God, such as Yom Kipper and Sukkot. I definitely love introspection and I especially love the fact the Holy Spirit dwells within me and will never leave me and is constantly revealing Jesus to me. I practice introspection every day, don’t you? I couldn’t possibly do introspection for only the ten days of Awe. I am a gentile saved by Grace working through love and faith and therefore I believe the Holy Spirit is transforming me and conforming me into the image of God… again, all by Grace. During these ten days of Awe I am joining my Jewish brothers and sisters to enjoy the Jewish feasts.

“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision, ” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Having nuclear weapons. It's crazy but I really felt like I was sitting in God's lap and asked this is great I love the Jewish holidays.
