Muscle growth refers to an increase in volume and mass that occurs to our muscles after long term strength training. This animation explains how this occurs

Just some notes:
1. Out of the 3 stimuli hypothesized to initiate hypertrophy, the role of mechanical tension is the clearest and best documented in current research. In contrast, the role of muscle damage and metabolic stress is a lot less clear, and their supporting evidence is controversial.

2.The magnitude and speed of muscle growth is affected by external factors, such as training stimulus, genetics, age, diet and sleep.

This is a very informative video; thank you for creating it. With all due respect though, may I suggest that it would have been easier to listen to without the music. Or perhaps just turning the volume down a bit. Otherwise, very well done.

Thank you there seems to be a lot of debate everywhere about if myofibrillar hypertrophy actually exist, so you're saying it does exist and when we lift heavy weights that damages the myo fibers and then they get healed and they enlarge? Is there a specific set and rep range for maximum myofibrillar, sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, and for endurance training?TU

Thanks, but I'm more concerned about the growth and long-evity of my Man Muscle, which by the way isn't really a muscle. Perhaps you learned that in your training. I trained to become a physics professor.

I found out the hard way that you can't outtrain a bad diet. As soon as I started following the Agoge diet, I have noticed awesome muscle growth.
