i am using an Laptop hard disk as external hard disk, I am facing the same issue, however when i tried to do it it is saying "The type of the file system is NTFS " CHKDSK aborted"

Please help me i m having very important documents in it

My 1TB external SSD shows up as a USB drive and when I click on it it says “Location Not Available, D:\ is not accessible. Incorrect Function” I already had a 1/4 of It used and it did this randomly when in booted up my laptop. Anyone know what I can do to recover my data?

Thank you for uploading this. I have a hard drive from my old computer and its giving the same problem. I Followed every step but it's taking so long and once I run the code it runs in stages instead of how yours did (which was short and brief) I have very important files on it and I'm not willing to let them go. on CMD I get the message ''Cannot open volume fo direct access'' after typing in chkdsk.. Any idea what I can do next? I'm trying to access a laptop SSD card that is in an adapter.
