One of the greatest storylines I’ve ever seen. The twist on the true love’s kiss that broke the curse really moved me.

She was violated by a man and then people shocked by her rage

Much more grimm and beautiful than the disney originally told it. A story of greed, betrayal and power, but also its about understanding the nature of pain and how it lashes out and can create a darkness in us. At its core though, its not a love story but a story of love, forgiveness and true inner beauty when we alow ourself to move past the darkness and see a better way. When I first saw this movie, I obsessively watched this movie with my full attention 3 times in a row. The magic, the feeling, the characters, the story plot and the bigger meaning in it all, and yes, even some tears 😭 WORTH IT 😅

This was one the best remakes I've seen. Jolie was amazing.
She encompassed the roll of Maleficent
The slight change in storyline and the focus being on her instead of Aurora made for a great story

The scene of Maleficent losing her wings was so validating. As a victim of SA I felt seen. Her torment felt so real and personal. I felt those screams in my soul. It was such profound art. And by the end..i felt stronger and more powerful. Ive never had a movie actually give me something that was taken from me. I wonder how many victims of SA watched it and felt empowered and seen. 🖤🖤🖤🖤

I saw this movie twice. It was so sad and you can see was so mean afterwards. Paninian, she was very nice and got some of her joy back.

Maleficient is 1 of the GOAT fairytale, this depiction tells of love, greed, betrayal and forgiveness. Both parts are equally captivating and a definite must watch😊.

Feels like a euphemism for rape/torture/murder against a guy who you thought was your friend.. Far too many women that have been taken horribly advantage of by men they thought they could trust..

Maleficent is one of the few live action films that actually had a great reimagining of a familiar plot. I love how the love story was more focused on the parental love between her and Aurora rather than the stereotypical fairy tale romance. 🥰 I also feel like the supernatural and the conflict between nature and man was well utilized. It got even better by the second film

I loved Maleficent. They did a good job with her backstory. The 2nd was good too.

That scream gives me chills every time. Blood curdling.

A wonderful portrayal of pain... this scene was meant to evoke the tragic aftermath and trauma of being raped... the pain never truly goes away, and it's so much worse when the offender is someone you know/trust.

It’s more painful to think when you realize that she felt more pain about the betrayal from the person she loved than losing her wings. She’s still as powerful as ever, with or without it. but her broken trust and heart, it’s really heartbreaking.
