A long time ago, before the Fairy Godmother flicked her wand and created the Isle of the Lost, two of the world's most threatening villains fell in love with each other. But their love wouldn't last for a handful of reasons, one of them being that they weren't on the same page when it came to parenting. Hades and Maleficent got married and had a daughter named Mal, but there was trouble in paradise from the get-go.

Before long, Hades walked out on Maleficent and his baby girl, choosing to hide out in the dungeons for the rest of his sentence. Mal grew up under the watchful gaze of an impossible mother and soon found out who her real father was. Maybe Maleficent told Hades about the possibilities of one day getting revenge on the people of Auradon through the use of their daughter and perhaps Hades just didn't like the idea of their daughter being used for that purpose and it may have caused a big argument? could be an interesting thing to think about.

If you go back to facts here you can know that hades is from Greek mythology and not from Disney but yes disney did make a movie called Hercules using hades in it but it didnt use everything from the Greek mythology. It's the reason why persephone wasn't in it and didnt show Zeus cheating on his wife or his wife torturing Hercules for not being hers or showing that Hercules killed meg because he thought she was a monster. But Disney wouldnt add that kind of dark stuff into a child's movie so it's the reason they cut alot of facts from it.

Hades is actually one of the good ones in the Greek mythology because 1. Zeus and Poseidon cheat on there wife. BUT hades didn’t.

Ok but in Greek mythology, hades is actually the only one who is fateful to his wife, Persephone, and only became the god of the underworld by getting the lowest dice role. He is still always the villain.

Also can we all just take into account of the fact that in actual Greek mythology Hades isn’t actually a bad guy. He may have been the god of the dead and the king of the underworld, but that’s all he was, god of death and a king. Some of the other gods where way worse, e.g. Ares, god of war, Mesperyian, goddess of torture and punishment, (I realise she’s not a real Greek mythology goddess but still)

Also all the things the other gods did, cheating on their wives/husbands, impregnating their wives, randomly killing mortals and creating more gods. Hades never did any of that.

In fact his love story with Persephone was actually really cute. Sure He kidnapped her (Zeus actually gave him permission to do that btw) but they were really in love, like she was actually happy with him. He even allowed her to leave for a year but she still comes back.

So in conclusion, Hades is the only good god, he may be the god of the underworld and death but it’s not as bad as his brothers.

Quick note: most of this stuff was explained by my friend (one time) So I may have gotten some stuff wrong, but my pint still stands.
