Here's Why Maleficent Was Stuck As A Lizard When Every Other Villain Got To Be Free In Descendants 3

Growing up on the Isle of the Lost wasn't easy. Scratch that - it was pretty darn terrible! The VKs had to pick flies out of their cakes, sleep on the floor, and get emotionally tortured by their villain parents. But being imprisoned on the Isle after decades of freedom wasn't exactly easy either. Villains boiled with rage for decades before ever getting the chance to slip past the barrier. All Maleficent wanted was to bring down the barrier and get her revenge on Auradon. So when her daughter was chosen to attend Auradon Prep, Maleficent started making plans. But instead of getting the revenge she thought she deserved, Maleficent was turned into a puny lizard by her very own flesh and blood.

Everyone knows that Maleficent is one of the most powerful Disney villains of all time. So why is she still stuck in her lizard form? Tune into TheThings as we reveal the real reason Maleficent wasn't in "Descendants 3."

Hades: then why are you here?
Maleficent: I want revenge on Mal.
Hades: you expect to turn against my own daughter. Typical.
Maleficent: you abandoneded me.
Hades: yes. Not her. You
Maleficent; come on hot head. Don't you want revenge.
Hades: I got my revenge on you by helping Mal.
Maleficent: then what more do you want from me?
Hades: to see the good in you. To live happily ever after with you.
Maleficent: and what about Persephone?
Hades: Maleficent that was a So is this.... So is us....
*After the duet they kiss at the same time Mal walks in with Celia*
Mal: I'm going to pretend that I didn't see that and that you two still hate each other.
*Mal walks out*
Maleficent: that's my girl.
Hades: that's our girl.
Celia throws canned corn at Hades and he catches it: don't mess this up again. -_-

Maleficent shrank herself to the size of the love in her heart. Only Maleficent can bring herself back to her normal size through love. This is my understanding.

Mal cant turn her mother into a human again. She became a lizard cuz thats the size of the love in her heart. If Maleficents love size gets bigger and stronger, she might become a human again.

I actually think the reason Mal didn't undo the spell on her mom is because she can't. Fairy Godmother implied that the way to break the spell is for Maleficent to learn to love more.
Perhaps like the Beast, the spell can only be broken by one especific way: learning to love.
My bet is if there was a Descendants 4 it would be about Mal and Ben's kid finding his/her lizard grandma and teaching her to love again. Perhaps Maleficent will turn back to a dragon and later her fairy form, because of her love for grandchild.
