Michelle Pfeiffer did a great job playing Queen Ingrid! She’s really good at playing both evil and good mother roles!

This part gets me every time, and when she screams "NO!" the tears fall every time.

I feel like if she was fast enough to switch them around, she would've been fast enough to...you know...move both of them out of the way?

This could've been Auroras villain origin story where she becomes a Queen of darkness invoking an ancient power hidden deep down within her kingdom leaving her humanity and be reborn as a being of immense power and hatred vowing to avenge her fallen Mother and her subjects.

The two Maleficient movies are wonderful I don't think Angelina got enough credit for her work here.

I think people in the comment section who are saying “why didn’t she move both her and Aurora out of the way” are forgetting the scene where it said something along the lines of ”Maleficent is one of the last descendants of the phoenix” (I’m not 100% sure since I haven’t seen the movie in a while). I also think it’s to show how a mother/parental figure will sacrifice their life for their child.

I feel like since Maleficent had been backstabbed, she knows its the worst pain that she would never want her daughter to experience. But to show her daughter the truth, she knew she needed to die.

Of course with her power she could easily move that arrow away but she just wanted to teach that stubborn girl a lesson.

For people thinking she could’ve pushed her to he side, you know when you have stress you can’t think fas or that well, and it was in slow motion so we don’t know how fast the arrow was.

Typical for people to villianize the victim. Maleficent in this version was battered, betrayed, and had her wings removed by the person she poured her heart and soul into. (Relateable) and then she in spite of all that grief and distrust fell into a motherly role because she loved the crap out of that child and raised her as her own. Is she twisted, messed up, and vindictive? Yes. But she is also capable of true love, even if it’s for her forest friends and that child who grew into a young lady. You know who is the real villian? The cowards who started the abuse, betrayal, and backstabbing. Is redemption possible? I believe so, but that is YOUR story to write. Not mine. 😉

I feel bad for Auroras mother, she was a princess so she did not have a choice in marriage, had to marry a man who only wanted her fathers title and because of her husbands actions her daughter was cursed and taken from her, then on her deathbed her husband would not even agree to her wishes to see him.

Yeah, she could just move her out of the way but the story had to fit in a dramatic sacrifice in there somewhere

I've never hated a main character like Aurora so much in this movie.

Arora has the same level of crying as Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man mourning over Gwen Stacy’s death.
