Now, nuclear, that's not an option. even though it's our most cleanest and reliable source.

Im fairly certain that's 100% accurate, but because of 1 incident, people are too skittish to invest in it

What I love about this show’s dialogue is that it doesn’t sugarcoat isssues or outright lie. It says “this is how it is. Accept that, then we can do something about it.”

I like the fact that, despite the dependence and the push for oil...they always end it with the reminder that there is a finite source.

This actually seemed substantively real enough to be legitimately entertaining.

You can build those nuclear reactors now or later, but eventually they're gonna get built.

Love folks who know nothing of the industry go against it (sarcasim)
Remember folks wanted to get rid of petroleum until I said plastic grocery bags are made with petroleum. Then those who make the bags will be out of jobs. Guess we can go back to paper bags but then the tree huggers would be mad because we will cut down the trees. I guess you can bring your own

People want to pick apart an industry NEVER knowing all the multiple industries affected by one product.

Had a boss who once told me, "Don't change a process without consulting my coworkers. It might make it easier for you, but it could affect them greatly."

Same goes here.

I too wish to have a logical outburst in a meeting like this.

It's amazing that that hollywood would allow facts about energy to actually be stated on a show

We really need to start encouraging innovation. Nuclear power is the answer to our energy needs at home but unless we invent a way to power our vehicles we are always gonna be at the mercy of other nations when it comes to gas prices.

I’ve only seen clips of Taylor Sheridan’s shows, Yellowstone and now Landman.
However, Sicario, for which he wrote the screenplay, is one of my favourite films.
From what I’ve seen, he’s typically writing about ’heroic’ US and capitalist chauvinism (not a criticism).
His areas of interest and tone really makes me think he might be (maybe should be?) building towards creating a new limited series adaptation of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged.

He's actually understating how much more expensive wind and solar are. He's using Levelized Cost of Energy which doesn't account for the system costs, which can easily push wind and solar beyond 10-20x the cost of natural gas. 'Levelized Full System Costs of Electricity' if this interests you.
