I don't want to believe this, but its almost like the writers forgot they needed a plot for the mom and daughter past their first week on screen as eye candy and so now they've written in that she is "restarting her classes a week late" and now Angela somehow cares more about random old people over her recovering son.

My favorite part of this show is the female characters educating the male characters on things they know nothing about. It’s so realistic!

Two Cups will spring into action, call his friend Cody, and they'll go save the day.

I think that, once Angela drives away in her Bentley, the narrative purpose of casting Victor is done and he'll never get a second of screen time.

Anyone else confused why Rebecca the lawyer says "we've been looking everywhere for you" to Cooper at the end of this episode? The line doesn't add up to me without some gymnastics. Like wasn't Cooper sitting across from Nathan at the homemade shit show family dinner in episode 5? I know Nathan cringes when he sees Cooper walk into the living room at Ariana's during their visit, so is it possible Nathan has been trying to shield Cooper from Rebecca who is trying to tie negligence to him for the accident? But - it's a small town and you'd think that word would've traveled fast to Rebecca, that an employee was beat within an inch of their life on company property and ended up in the hospital, no matter who it was.

So I started the show last night and was getting into. I like the premise of the show and the actors. But it really threw me off once the daughter was introduced. They are at the foot ball game and Billy bob asks his 17 yr old daughter if she and her boyfriend are “careful” or something like that. Her response is “Dad don’t worry, I told him if he doesn’t come in me, he can come on me anywhere he wants”…. I was like ok that was a bit on the nose, but let’s continue watching. As it goes on literally every scene the 17 yr old girl is in she’s half naked with long camera shots of her ass in under wear or a bikini. Every scene with her is older middle aged men trying not to look with her parading around in front of them doing shit like rubbing Cisco on her self. It’s completely off putting and borderline gross. It’s just too much and kinda ruined it for me. Like what’s the point. They have to use an under age girl with old men for sex appeal in the show? WTF, They couldn’t come up with something better? Pretty disappointing if you ask me bc aside from that I thought the show was pretty good.

I mean this is what scream did with drew barrymore. Kill a star at the beginning so you know stakes are real

Even though it would be predictable, it could be comedic gold if they took Ainsley and Angela. Cartel or not, they’d bring them straight back to Tommy’s front door after an hour. 🤣

The first five episodes were better than the entire fifth season of Yellowstone

I do tell my friends, though, if they persevere through the scenes with Angela it’s a great show! Having said that, BBT under his breath and sarcastic comments saves every scene with her.

Do think Demi Moore is entirely wasted though. Don’t think the part required a high profile actress.

But so far so good

100% that's going to happen but I want it to be the wife as well when they kidnap her.

WTF did I just watch? I’ve been mostly onboard with the absurdity of the Angela/Ainsley part of the show. Episode 7 was complete and utter shite.

I wouldn't call it shite but it was pretty barebones, nothing really happened. Needed another 10 minutes of actual plot

When I first saw Michael Pena and Emilio Rivera, I wondered why they weren't in the opening credits, but we know why. It got me thinking as I watched the following 5 episodes - I think Pena (and Rivera) would have been so much better off being the follow up crew and not the dead crew. I can easily see Pena deadpanning "dude, you know Tommy will fuck you up if you touch his son, right?" And Rivera has that rep of being a tough guy from Sons of Anarchy and Mayans (but dude is besties with Fluffy Iglesias and is hysterical), both would have been assets to the show.

Exactly! She has said very few words with the awful Texas accent. It's like TS went to her and Hamm and said.. you can shoot all your scenes for the season in a day... if you can just do some press for the show.

Ugh. So predictable. Yes she gets kidnapped, QB helps get her back. And Rebecca couldn't have found Coop during his multiple stays at the hospital??? Or ask Tommy? She's lucky HE doesn't sue for getting jumped. Is Talor's kid writing this slop?

Yup. I honestly don’t mind that strategy of Taylor Sheridans, it def adds to the stakes a bit by keeping you on your toes to not get attached to any one character as they can get knocked off. However I do agree with Michael Pena specifically it was a huge waste of talent.

Perhaps Michael wanted in on the show but it, got signed on super late into production / script approvals or maybe he only had limited days available for shooting and so that was all the screen time that fit with his schedule. Similar to how with 1883 after the success of Yellowstone suddenly A listers all wanted to make an appearance and we randomly got Tom Hanks dropping a cameo for 5 minutes.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, shows like Lionness, I found the marketing completely misleading where the commercials hardcore promote Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman, but the entirety of season 1 was centred around Laysla de Oliveira, and she’s not even on the poster, and barely in the trailers and tv commercials at all.
