Years back, my Korean war vet dad was in the basement with his tabletop saw. He just casually meandered up the basement stairs, nonchalant as if nothing happened, trail of blood, and had cut the very tip of his finger off. He wrapped his finger and fingertip in a paper towel, and off to the ER we went. ER doc wanted to re-attach the tip, get a hand specialist involved, and my dad was like F it ...just sew up my finger & forget about the tip and leave me be! Lol. Just remember thinking....man that was badass.

When I was 12 i went to work with my Grandfather. He was running a crew setting chokers on logs so they could be helicoptered out. One of the guys got a finger caught in a choker and when the helicopter pulled up with a log. It popped the guys finger right off. He went to the truck got a paper towel out and wrapped it over the stump taped it up with Duct Tape and went back to work. That was over 40 years ago and ill never forget how tough those SOB's were.

My father was an iron worker. He got his pointer finger cut off on the job. He glued a flap of skin over using super glue and used electrical tape to tidy things up. He finished his day at work too. When he goes to the dentist for a root canal or an extraction, he never uses any kind of pain relief or numbing agent. I took after my Mother.

About cut off my index and middle fingers. Wrapped what I had handy around my hand - a handkerchief and some paper towels. Drove to the er got blood everywhere in my truck. Walked through the front doors of the er, waiting room was packed. I’m dripping blood everywhere and the nurse holds the door open to the treatment area. Walked right in.

I can relate to this. I had something very similar happen to my left bog toe. They wanted to do surgery to reattach, and I told them I didn't have time to do all that, just cut it the rest of the way off. I wasn't prepared to do it myself though, Although I did have a knife in my pocket to do it. They ended up just sewing it back on the best they could, and said it probably wouldn't work. Well it did heal and somewhat looks like a toe, but I'm no foot model or anything so how cares?

I used to work in the commercial plumbing trade, we use this stuff called primer, which is alcohol colored purple to clean the pipes and helps set the catalyst before you add the glue. This guy cuts his finger off with a bandsaw, he then proceeds to dip his nub into the primer without saying a word, then walks off to his car like nothing just happened.
