The BEST cinnamon rolls in the WORLD. Big, fluffy, soft and absolutely delicious. You'll never go back to any other recipe once you try this one! This cinnamon roll recipe includes options to make them overnight or ahead of time and even freeze them.
Ingredients

For the dough:
¾ cup warm milk (whole milk or 2% preferred) (110 degrees F)
2 ¼ teaspoons quick rise or active yeast (1/4-ounce package yeast)
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 egg plus 1 egg yolk, at room temperature
¼ cup butter, melted (I prefer salted, but unsalted works, too)
3 cups bread flour, plus more for dusting
3/4 teaspoon salt
For the filling:
2/3 cup dark brown sugar (light brown sugar also works)
1 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon
¼ cup butter, softened
For the cream cheese frosting:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons butter, softened
¾ cup powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

I always add 1 cup of golden raisins and chopped 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. You can also butter a 12-cup cake, pan. Sometimes I grate some orange rind and instead of vanilla, orange extract.

If you have a bench scraper you can use it to square off the dough corners

Oh this video unlocked a great memory for me…
So my uncle had this fabulous recipe for cinnamon rolls. We lived in MN. In the winter, my mom would make these. She would put the bowl and later the pan in front of the heat registers to help it rise faster. She would use an old feedsack cloth/towel to cover it. I still have the bowl she used to use.

That Uncle passed away a year ago. I think I need to dig out the recipe and give it a whirl. 💕

Dave every time I watch you cook I want to jump in the tv and help you! 😂 My children say that’s why they never like to cook with me. I’m a butt-in-ski and they get stressed by me saying “No, do it this way”. Keep cooking and you’ll get better and better. I can’t wait to see what you’re like 1-2 years from now. 50 year veteran cooks love watching young cooks grow! (But love to boss them around too😂)

There is a long history of woman who to this day bath in a warm milk bath! Supposed to keep their skin youthful. Little late for me to try it 😆- besides I'm lactose intolerant!🤣

Only trick i know for keeping dough the right size is a yardstick on the table. My grandmother taught me that.

I think that was supposed to be plastic or damp towel.

And the way you balled that dough hurt my soul. Watch a video on balling a pizza dough. You want the dough smooth before you put it in the bowl. It makes rolling it out easier.
