I used to have really dry and frizzy hair, now I thankfully have really thick, healthy, and glass hair and the tips from this video are REALLY good and helpful, all the things said work and help. I also found lots of comments of people asking what to do if you have frizzy and dry hair, I'll put my haircare routine and some of the products I use.

My haircare routine:

Daily :
- Applying oil (coconut, rosemary, or alma) to the ends of my hair 30 mins before showering
(Do a quick 5-10 min scalp massage)
- damp the hair with warm water (this helps open up the hair follicles allowing the shampoo to better remove all the oil)
- shampoo twice (I like to use Pantene daily moisture renewal shampoo)
(I like to also use a scalp scrubber)
- turn off water and start wringing out the water from your hair
- split hair in 2, and apply conditioner (I use the Pantene daily moisture renewal conditioner)
- twist hair to help better absorb the conditioner
(I have 2c - 3a hair so at this point I like to brush out my hair with a wet brush)
- wash out conditioner with cold water (closes the hair follicles and helps reduce breakage form the root while hair is wet)
- put hair up in a t-shirt or microfiber towel while I moisturize my face and body
- split hair into 2 and apply leave-in conditioner (Mielle rosemary mint blend strengthening leave-in conditioner - this also works as a heat protectant) and heat protectant (it's a 10 miracle leave-in product- this is pretty expensive so I only use it when I'm gonna be styling my hair with heat)
- let hair air dry

Weekly :
- Applying oil ( rosemary, or alma) throughout my whole head (scalp and ends)
- Using a hair mask (bought or homemade)
- Using heat

Some tips :
- don't use heat daily
- drink LOTS of water
- take vitamin e supplements (if your balding/thinning)
- if you have frizzy hair, pay attention to moisturizing your hair while it's wet (not dripping wet, but when your hair is around 30% dry)

- don't always use products you see online, research about your hair type first and your main concerns then buy products according to those things

If you have any questions or need recommendations go ahead and ask in the comments, I'll most likely reply :D

If you have low proposity hair avoid coconut oil and shea butter(they are really heavy) instaed use argan, jojoba, avocado and almond oil!

2:39 apparently for low porosity hair, coconut oil is really bad for that type of hair.

Great video <3 My additions: when you wash out the pre-wash oil use conditioner or mask (no silicones!) because it emulsifies the oil so it is easy to wash out without aggressive double shampoo wash. Also works great if your hair got super oily when you delayed the wash day haha. Secondly, if your hair is light and easily gets weighted down by products (I have Slavic hair so it is an issue for me) use this method: pre-wash oil -> conditioner/mask on wet hair (brushed in with a paddle brush, take your time) -> gentle shampoo (once) -> microfiber towel plopping -> lightweight serum (preferably without silicones, I like the JVN one). Works like a charm :)

And remember lovelies, everyones hair is different in terms of porosity, texture and more. Make sure to do your own research beforehand to find out your hair porosity and hair type. By knowing the moisture intake level Of your hair you can adjust your preferences of products accordingly. Figure out the right type of hair oils for your hair and scalp. In my opinion natural remedies work best (they saved me from becoming bald!). I personally love flaxseed hair masks so make sure to give that a try.

Lastly at the end of my "know it all" speech i would encourage you to not take stress and to please be careful of your diet. Dont eat junk food all of the time and dont be too pushy on having a strict diet either. Live is all about balance! Good luck 💞

Whenever you use shampoo dont lather it, just put it in your hands and dump it on the top of your head and crown, then you’ll lather it around your hair (Only use your fingertips to lather it around; don’t use scalp scrubbers, I’m not saying never use them, you can use them to help hair growth but they won’t clean your hair.)

I live in a place with a desert climate, where you have to shower twice a day or you'll turn into a sweaty mess. I can't skip my head washing bc I'll get a heat stroke 🥲

Don’t emulsify the shampoo before applying on your scalp.
The way shampoo works is the soap grabs the oil molecules and sticks to them and creates suds, water rinses and cleans the actual scalp. You want an even coat of shampoo on your hair before it suds, it’s not completely avoidable but rubbing the soap on your hands before you put it in your scalp doesn’t do what you’d think. Avoid super sudsy soaps because those aren’t really cleaning your hair, a good soap wouldn’t sud immediately and would have less suds, another important thing is to wash is twice, and only put it on your scalp, not the rest of your hair. I’ve started doing this for a month or two now and I can go a good 4 days before my hair is super greasy

I just boil amla reetha and shikakai and use it as shampoo. Oil my hair with castor oil and my hair has never felt better. And no heat.
The more product you use, the worse your hair becomes.

I damaged my in my 20s by putting what not. Oiling is your friend.

I feel like Jojoba oil is a good alternative of coconut oil for people with low porosity hair, I started using jojoba oil instead of coconut oil and my hair looks so much healthier now

Small note: if you have a cold environment, coconut oil can break your hair because it’s going to be tight again

I never use heat on my hair (heat iron/staightener).
I never blow dry my hair.
I never rubb them dry with a towel or anything else.
I use a mild shampoo for years now (no silicons, no parabens).
I always get rid off excess water after washing the scalp. I used to use coconut oil years ago but stopped because it made my already dry and frizzy hair even worse.

3 years ago I switched to argan oil and it wasn't dooing anything good for my hair either.
I never comb my hair because everyone tells you to not comb curly hair.
We do not have hard water.

And still my hair is very frizzy and super dry.

Two days ago I tried the highly praised selfmade linseed gel... I wanted to shave my head afterwards. The only thing it did to my hair was leaving it with white-grey lint/fluff all over...
I had to knead my hair with oil to get rid of some lint amount but it was useless. After that my hair was all frizzy again and I had to wash out the rest of the lint. So it was all useless and only caused more work and took more time than my hair care already does.

My conclusion:
To have healthy thick shiny hair or something close to that you have to be born with it. Otherwise your hair is doomed. Genes are mighty🤨🙄

Some hair types might be able to achieve a shiny look for a couple of days with all so many different drug store products but by using all this chemical stuff you don't do your body and hair any favour on a longterm basis. And your natural hair will look even worse then.
Sorry to say that but unfortunetly it's true.
