- What is Alprazolam ( Xanax 2mg )?

- Alprazolam is Antianxiety agent, hypnotic. It belongs to a category of drugs called benzodiazepines. It potentiates the action of GABA, which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, resulting in increased neural inhibition and CNS depression, especially in limbic system and reticular formation.

- It is available as 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg , 1 mg , 2mg and 3 mg tablets.

- It is used in management of Anxiety disorder and Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia.

- Usual Adult Dose for Anxiety disorder:
- Immediate-release tablets/orally disintegrating tablets (ODT): 0.25 to 0.5 mg orally administered 3 times a day
-Maximum dose: 4 mg/day
- Elderly or debilitated patients:
- Immediate-release tablets/ODTs: 0.25 mg orally administered 2 or 3 times a day

- Usual Adult Dose for Panic Disorder:
- Immediate-release tablets/ODTs: 0.5 mg orally administered 3 times a day
- Maximum dose: 10 mg/day

- Elderly or debilitated patients:
- Immediate-release tablets/ODTs:
- Initial dose: 0.25 mg orally administered 2 or 3 times a day
- Extended-release tablets:
- Initial dose: 0.5 mg orally once a day

I too 35 years and no problem as if you take it on a regular basis it kicks in as an antidepressant. I have no problem not taking it for days. So this is another example of over the top info.

Am just afraid of my harmful actions then now doctors don’t want to give you it I have taken this medication for over 30 years and now am trying to stop but I can’t doctors need to understand that it’s really hard to detox from them then if you hurt some one then you want to convict someone but you doctors gave it to us you must help people not take them away now you want to take it away then you wonder why someone hurt some body or ex when it’s to late doctors can’t expect no one to react
