Fun fact: The women and children first rule was a miscommunication between staff and the captain. He said women and children first but the staff took it as women and children only.

Makes me think of 2 separate Titanic stories I've heard. The first one a man tossed his gloves to his wife while the life boat she was on was being lowered into the water, so she would have something of his to remember him by. The second one was a teenage boy who, when both his mother and a crew member tried to get him into the life boat, supposedly said "No, I'm staying with the men", refusing to abandon ship before all the women and children were off. Sadly, neither guy survived. On a happier note there was one guy who survived by clinging to the side of a life boat until rescue arrived; his blood alcohol levels were so high they kept him from freezing to death. He picked the right night to get wasted I guess.
EDIT: I did not mean to start a fight about whether or not the last story is true/plausible, I was just repeating what I've heard because I didn't want my post to be too depressing.

Btw on starboard side 1st Officer William Murdoch let men on cause he thought that he will let women and children first and then he let men on. But on Port Side, Chief Officer Wilde and 2nd Officer Lightoller weren't letting men on except seamen. Lightoller was most senior officer to survive the sinking.

As a Titanic expert and historian this is actually pretty accurate. (Obviously this is a fake story but it has some details right such as a man did dress as a woman and this video also briefly discussed Mordochs orders of Woman and Children FIRST. And lightollers order of woman and children ONLY)
