fully agree r.e. the build quality of UDG equipment, I have a case for my DDJ-FLX6 from UDG and the foam padding inside was falling off within a day or two of me having it... wasn't impressed considering it was £90 but a bit of glue fixed the issue

great video 👍🏼

Karl, good video very handy advice, sennheiser hd25's, Sure SM58 couldn't agree more, bomb proof quality work horses, cables of varying options highly agreed don't rely on the venue and I'd even go as far as to carry a 2, 3 or 4 gang extension lead with a 2m flex just in case you need a power socket where one isn't provided. I'm a bit curious as to the laptop choice but if you're a mac guy fair enough but I'd say you can gat a laptop of equal quality and performance for half the price in Windows pc form (I own and use both so not a fan boy). Personally I love UDG gear, had a number of their cases and recently bought one of their backpacks and love the design and quality, I agree they're not cheap, I've not had any build quality issues so maybe my outlook differs to yours, if I had issues with build quality I must admit I'd be less than happy for the price they charge but to date touch wood I've had nothing but solid performance from their equipment. Personally I'd carry a back up pair of headphones, I have Hd25's as my main headphones and the lite version as back ups but they're not cheap and I've had to build up to the luxury of a good quality pair of back up headphones. Other than that a change of clothes because there's a multitude of scenarios where a fresh change of clothes would be highly welcomed

Would have never thought about a switch for ethernet use.

if you're travelling to gigs in the car, then hard cases would be best for your controller and laptop. Convenience is no good if you've battered your MacBook and controller to pieces.
