Just a mention for dumb-dumbs like me who are brand new to this: Although he makes a big deal about pointing out how the sketch goes from Under Defined to Fully Defined, mine didn't do this. However, moving onto the next step still creates the sphere shape. You do not need the sketch to become Fully Defined in order to complete it.

Hey cghcom

The sphere will be solid after the revolve feature. You would actually need to use surfaces to make it empty.

ha thanks for this! It amazes me that solidworks you have to do all these manually. I guess it is the same way for doing a cone?

Hi, nice vid. Just a few comments: you don't need to dimension the radius if you've already dimensioned the diameter =P. And for those who want an empty sphere without doing any other feature you can just draw a second "half-circle" with a smaller radius and connect both with lines, when you do revolve it's gonna be an empty sphere (like a ping pong ball)

did everything exactly like you did, and successfully created sphere but at no point did the 'under definined' message turn to 'fully defined like yours did.
