If you're going to buy the 3060 new, just buy the 6650XT then. Same price, better raster performance, more recent. The 5700XT shouldn't even be an option if you're only buying new.
Edit: The 3060 is currently $279 while the RX 6650XT is $219. Better performance for 25% less money. Even the 4060 is $289 so I don't think the 3060 is a good buy anyways.

Let's be real here. If someone is on a 3060 budget ray tracing isn't their priority. Mid-tier is the bang for your buck tier, and I think AMD has it in that generation of cards.

I bought a used 3060 12gb OC from marketplace and im happy with it. Its a tuf gaming triple fan card, I paid $275 Cad. I have it paired with a i5 13400f

Def 3060 if it’s in a good price range. After using an RX 5700 xt for few years I can say that the power draw is adding to the electricity bill and the gpu is getting really high temps so you would have to repaste that thing really often

I jad a sapph nitro 5700xt, was incredible. Ran a little hot. Now i have the 7800 xt and it runs very cool, amd has been great for me

I bought a used 5700xt for $190CAD ($140USD) and I honestly have nothing to complain about after upgrading from an rx570.

Also, the 5700 xt paired with an AMD CPU can improve the FPS in games, when the right settings are applied in the BIOS.

I bought my triple fan 12 gigs 3060 RtX on used market just after the release of infamous last of us pc port. Needless to say thoss 12 gigs really came in handy and gave me smoother experience even though game was badly optimized.
The Last of Us was using around 11.5 gigs Vram all tbe time and there was no texture poping or lag at all❤

Don’t forget that nvidia cards are better at Blender and stuff like that so it all just depends on what u are gonna be doing if it’s pure gaming AMD but doing stuff like editing and stuff like that then nvidia might be the better option

dlss works wonders on the 3060. Sometimes it even doubles fps and still looks amazing .
