With a dull knife you also will apply more pressure to get the same result, enhancing the chance of harsher injury if slipping

A dangerous knife is one that is hard to control, and that's what happens with dull knives

I only FULLY understood this recently. Control/speed aside, a dull knife just needs more effort. A mistake with more effort is gonna have more momentum. Hope nothings in the way

Also a sharp knife makes a clean cut, a dull knife "bends" the skin inwards, resulting in a worse cut that will heal not as easily

also the psychological aspect: you’re less likely to be cautious with a dull one as it’s not as sharp

Additionally to the issues of extra added pressure, slippage, and inconsistency, a dull knife will generally leave a jagged cut over a clean one.

A dull knife is bad because they aren't as exciting or interesting as a sharp knife.

It's actually more scarier chopping an apple into 8 pieces with a dull knife. The more you chop an apple with a dull knife, the more it gets dangerous.

*"Humans fear what they can't control."*
This line holds true here.

Also, you typically need to use more force when cutting things with a dull knife, whereas you would need hardly any force with a sharp one.
You’d probably also be less cautious when using a dull knife because “it’s dull, it won’t cut you” so you’re more likely to make mistakes and not be careful.
Chances of you hurting yourself badly with a dull knife is way greater than with a sharp knife.

This goes for most sharp objects, this is why i have to constantly change out my box cutters blade for work. A dull blade is extremely easy to cut yourself with.

Also if you are trying to cut meat with a dull knife you have to press harder to cut which can lead to a worse injury

Also with a dull knife, it makes a much harsher cut when you cut yourself then a sharp one

"The dull knife is just as dangerous as the sharp one if not used properly."

I thought that you meant that being attacked with a dull knife is more dangerous with a sharp knife and that you were going to demonstrate that by stabbing the meat.

Took me way too long to realize lol

The most dangerous knife is one of unknown sharpness. As long as you know how sharp or dull the knife is you can compensate and shouldn't have any issues, you only have issues with a dull knife if you treat it like a sharp one.

Dull is also relative to what you’re trying to cut. It’s still a blade.

I learned that when I was 6. I was trying to cut apple slices on my own because my parents were refusing to get up from bed. My mom was scared of me touching the sharp knives so I used a butter knife. It took far more pressure to use and on the first cut of the apple, I had accidentally sliced my thumb a quarter of the width through. I was so mortified, that I stood and stared at it for 30 seconds before crying and running to my mom. Always use a sharp knife, kids.

The only serious cut I've had was a dull knife slipping with a large amount of force behind it.

Also: In my experience, sharp knives make cleaner cuts that tend to bleed less, hurt less, scar less, and heal faster. Worst cuts I've had were from jagged metal or serrated blades.
