For those who don’t understand, the reason a sharp knife is safer is because with a sharp knife, you only have to add a little bit of pressure to slice through the food that you’re cutting. But with a dull knife it’s harder and you have to put a lot of force to cut which in turn, may lead to accidents in the kitchen.

For those who don't understand:
A sharp knife is safer because sharp knives are able to create a more defined and intentional cut. If the knife was blunt, it would have a harder time cutting through whatever is being cut and therefore is more likely to slip off of whatever is being cut. With that being said, it is easier to cut yourself unintentionally with a blunt knife.
