Why Am I a Christian?: Ultimately with R.C. Sproul

I too ask myself "Why me?" and cannot find an answer in myself. I have three siblings and I was the most disobedient of the 4 of us, yet He saved me. My mom is the most wonderful woman I know on this planet humanly speaking, yet she too rejects the sovereign Savior. Yet I cannot think of His sovereign grace without the tears of gratitude, because I know I did not deserve this in a million years.

I am a Christian by God's grace and God's grace alone. Because God had so mercifully set me on the path and ordained that I would submit to His Truth as He calls it. I can't, I can't hold any merit. God has so graciously molded the path of my life according to the way that pleases Him. And it pleased Him to let me exist as I do in this very moment. It pleased Him. God does as He pleases. And all He does is GOOD.

I think this very concept is the reason so many people turn to works-based religions. When a person understands the depths of their own depravity it's almost unbelievable that God would choose to love us without us presenting something of worth to Him, even though anything we can do is utterly worthless because it comes from sinful people.

I don't know what to call myself....some christians say they are christian and are like warm...you have true christians and bad christians....I'm just a follower of Jesus
