👉 Learn how to write the equation of a line in a point-slope form. The equation of a line is such that its highest exponent on its variable(s) is 1. (i.e. there are no exponents in its variable(s)). There are various forms which we can write the equation of a line: the point-slope form, the slope-intercept form, the standard form, etc.

The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line is given by y = mx + c. where m is the slope of the line and c is the y-intercept. Given an equation of a line in another form, we can rewrite the equation in slope intercept form by making y the subject of the formula in the given equation.

Ive struggled with math since 4th grade but this year I thought I was getting math but then we had a test on Linear Equations and I completely failed and didn’t understand anything. My teacher is great but she goes so fast so if I don’t get it I just give up. I’m sitting here doing test corrections now and needed a reminder so I looked up how to rearrange and found this video. Thank you for explaining why you need to do something and what the end result should be, that really helps me and I think I’ll keep coming back to this channel.

I had a friend ask me a question today
Basically, when dividing everything by -5 to separate -5 from y, when we divide -2x by -5, his question was basically why is it -2/-5 rather than -2x/-5. Like why, and how are you able to separate the coefficient and variable?
Like he was wondering why the fraction that you get is not -2x/-5 rather than -2/-5(x)
