👉 Learn how to write the equation of a line in a point-slope form. The equation of a line is such that its highest exponent on its variable(s) is 1. (i.e. there are no exponents in its variable(s)). There are various forms which we can write the equation of a line: the point-slope form, the slope-intercept form, the standard form, etc.

The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line is given by y = mx + c. where m is the slope of the line and c is the y-intercept. Given an equation of a line in another form, we can rewrite the equation in slope intercept form by making y the subject of the formula in the given equation.

@sasukefangirlforever It often speak to fast in class, it is important to understand this and try to slow down for those learning

@sasukefangirlforever one of the rules for an equation to be linear is that is must not have any two variables multiplied by one another. Since this equation has y multiplied by x it is not linear. I hope this helped

just add it like an integer, so if you have it in slope intercept for of y = -8/3x +20 you can just add both sides by 8/3x this will eliminate the -8/3x on the right side and you will have y + 8/3x = 20. However to write this equation in standard form you must have integer coefficients. To do this multiply the equation by 3 to eliminate the 3 in the denominator. Your final equation will by 3y +8x = 60

y -2/3x = 4 is in standard form ax +by = c

I don’t know if you’ll ever read this but what if they have the same denominator? Do you just multiply them by their denominator?

hey thanks for clearing this up for me but i cant figure out how this equation can be put in standard form: y=2/3x + 4 how would that be in standard form??

My problem was determine the standard form of the equation of the line that passes through (9, -4) and (6, 4) I have found everything and put it into slope intersect form. Which is Y=mx+b m=-8/3 b=20 (6, 4)
I am only confused about getting (mx) on the left side with y for the standard form because I don't know the correct steps to take when bringing (m) to the left side being it's a fraction, I know how to change it from a fraction once it's on the left, but I don't know how to move it.
