In this video, I talked about what you need to do when you move in to the UK and you move in to an apartment that is not bills inclusive. I also talked about what constitute the bills and how they charge. Finally, I covered how to ensure that you do not pay too much and staying on top the bills especially during this energy crisis.

Thanks for making this video, extremely helpful. I was exactly looking for this information as I'm just new to the UK and unfortunately my colleagues couldn't spend enough time to explain it this way.

If I had a loud speaker I would turn it to max volume for all new expats to hear far and wide! Thank you for this very important piece of information. Wish I had come across it earlier! It is very important to take a picture of your meter before moving into your new home good people!!!. It will save you a lot of stress, trust me. Listen to this good lady. You will thank her later!

I personally like not having a direct debit set up and pay quarterly. My gas and electric company have switched on the electronic smart meter after me reading it manually for 18months. I also over pay to build up credit, so the gas and electric bill is less when I pay with the customer meter reading. The reason I like quarterly bills is because every year the electric company would have to pay me back in the summer between £150 to £75 pounds. This was really annoying to me, so I prefer quarterly payments. This works for me anyway, good video, I've subscribed. God bless you 🌹🙏

I heard that if someone leave a unbill paid at your new addrees, you have to pay it, and they will reimburse you. But why is it like that? In America we don't have to pay someone's unpaId bill to get our electricity on.

As a former call center employee of a gas and electricity provider which went bankrupt in UK…Never set up DD coz providers have a right to charge bill settlement all of a sudden.
