Glad you chose to review the Pixel 8 first. The Pro doesn't seem to be an option for most of us considering the pricing.

he is the one who knows how to review a phone, mentioning each and every point what really user needs. he never went for fancy irritating thumbnails..🖤

Every new Pixel that comes out makes me fall in love with the device all the more!
Hope the quarterly Pixel drops make these new features available as a blanket availablity across all other Pixel devices later on!

- A proud Pixel 6a owner since the past year

Glad to see another Pixel 8 review. It is promising that you really had no real negatives for the phone. Other than Google disabling some features for the 8. Which happens with every phone brand they take away features from the base models to upsell you to the more expensive model. That's not really a negative in my opinion because you know for $300 less you aren't gonna be getting everything the 8 pro gets. It's common sense that you must be realistic when it comes to your expectations. At least for me I'm very happy Google managed to fix alot of my issues with the 6 and 7 series.

I appreciate for reviewing pixel 8, but I would love to see your review on S23 Fe as well.

Thanks a lot for highlighting the regular model. Most reviewers go for the pro models first.

I have always used an Android, but moved to iOS a year ago. The more I use an iPhone in my work life, the more I miss the ‘smart’ features of Android.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy using my iPhone too (I especially appreciate their focus on privacy), but for productivity it doesn’t even come close to Android.

This phone is almost the perfect device for me. I require a second phone now for work, and it only makes sense for me to go back to Google.

My requirements are quite simple:

Good camera
Software support
Good battery life
Loud (and quality) speakers
Some ‘smart’ productivity features
Good haptics (iPhones spoil you with their haptics)
Simple timeless design and a clean UI
‘Smallish’ Screen size (I cannot go back to using giant phones ever again)

The smaller pixel checks all the boxes.

Thank you Ranjit for taking the time to do a thorough test of the features available in the devices. I had a few a ideas I was hoping you could take a look at.
Price - I think the price for Pixel and Pixel pros should be fixed at 55k and 85k-90k (if Pro has a better ultra wide lens and the normal one has the same capabilities as the pro for the main sensor. It's a phone marketed as a camera phone with amazing AI. It should come with such options in that case). At least so long we consider $1k a flagship in US. I understand the need to increase the price for taxes and such from USD to INR. But we simply do not have that kind of income here to be able to comfortably buy a phone for >1L. Much less needs to be said about phones costing 1.6L.

Heating - Could you please check if it heats up while the magic editor is being used? (I know you mentioned it does). But what I mean to test is, how long does it take for the phone the turn off the gallery app? I saw some initial user reviews on flipkart saying, it is shutting down the gallery app after some editing. But "Some editing" is very subjective. Any number would be really helpful.

Usecase - Stretching the above mentioned point a little further, could you check the heating issue if the phone is being used as a a primary recording device in a sunny day outside? The pixel 7s would shut down video after about 9 minutes. I think, a flagship phone in 2023, should at least be capable of constant camera usage in outdoors for at least 30 minutes without severe overheating. (Is that a decent expectation to have? I really dunno😅 If you could answer that would be great.).

Benchmarks are never really that practical in day to day usage. As long as the phone can be used for a day without the need of constant battery top off throughout and the phone shutting down after 15 minutes being used as a camera. But Google doesn't exactly provide a reliable experience. Starting from them going back on their promises before to the overheating of the pixels so far after around 3 months.

What do you think? Would love some clarity on these doubts I have.

Finally, many of us were looking forward for this and also more importantly the review and comparison of iphone 15 with pixel.
Please Ranjith can we have a video on this soon. I'm sure many are waiting for your detailed review of both these devices.
There are tons of reviews everywhere but simply not trustworthy and also they sound scripted and not convincing.

Imagine all this with a perfectly stable and flagship 8 gen 2.
Sadly, Google is too stubborn to accept this.
