you know how parents joke about their sons coming home on the college breaks or being around the house during high school spring break and just demolishing the contents of the fridge? Since they stay in contact with their families, imagine a Salamanders scout coming back to his hometown for the first time since he left for training and just DESTROYING all the snacks and leftovers. He's a growing boy, after all :)

My head-canon is that the salamanders have the best MREs since they stay with their families, I can imagine they learned some recipes and make them themselves since they’re probably the most self sufficient legion. And with their care for civilians, I think they might even share some of those homemade rations with the people they rescue.
