CQB Every Civilian Should Know

You wake up in bed. You get ready for the day. You go to work. You go to the grocery. You shop at a store. You go back home and go to sleep. We are in buildings and "close quarters" environments every day - probably even the majority of our day. That's why CQB is relevant to every person.

In this video, we go back to the basics with Drew Estell, owner of Baer Solutions and a Special Operations Veteran, to focus specifically on the top three CQB considerations every person should know and master.

Go and watch the Baer Solutions "3 Ways To Secure Your Home" to follow up on these concepts, and give them a like/subscribe:

If you can't refrain from clearing your house anytime you simply move or pick up your AR, go ahead and hit that subscribe button

Nothing taught me all the secrets of my home so much as having kids did. Between nerf gun wars and hide-and-seek, I learned every blind corner and shooting angle imaginable. These kids are devious.

This is possibly this single most valuable piece of "home defense" content on the internet.

The SF guy admitting his wife laughs at him while he practices clearing the house is hilarious, and puts a good perspective on things. Thank you guys for the awesome instruction and the video!

“It’s not always about shooting” is a fantastic point

“It’s not just about shooting…” The most important line is easy to miss in all the other great advice.

I trained with Drew long before the he made the training fame. He was an excellent trainer . He tailored our class for ea student and we had a full array of students . We had SF guys working on stuff before entry into a CQB school, police officers, competition shooters, and a few regular Joe civilians such as myself. I can highly recommend him if he was that good back 7 or 8 yrs ago I am sure he has only gotten better.

Ever since I've bought my home 5 years ago, I've done this drill at least monthly. We don't live in a "bad" area, but there have been several times where our back door was left open by accident. When we come home, we don't realize it until we walk up. It's very unnerving when you have 5 kids and it's dark when you get home. The training I do has helped to curb the adrenalin that gets dumped and allows me to be able to make clear and consistent decisions. Responsible owners will train and train and hope to never have to use deadly force.

The phrase that comes to mind listening to this man is teach is “win with the basics.”

All of this is just common sense and simple “plug and play” kind of stuff. Great teacher. Great information.

It's nice to see a video that strips away the battle rattle and presents the basics. Not everyone is a Navy Ranger Secret Squirrel Stalker, and the battle rattle is intimidating for beginners.

I've done this with family and nerf guns, just for good 'live' practice. One plays home invader, one the homeowner, maybe one as innocent bystander. Great video!

My worst nightmare in a situation like this would be friendly fire in any way. So thank you very much for emphasizing the importance of "not making a bad decision!" I would also like to learn how to "earn the shot", or in other words: how to clear with friends in a civil war type situation without accidentaly getting shot from my buddy. I have already seen a video from someone else. But I beleive I can learn it better with you guys. Thank you for the free tour!

Snipping those wires at the beginning gave me a chuckle. That method frequently produces a large blue flash.

Adding full length wall mirrors on the short wall helps with pieing a room. Bedrooms especially. They can be attractive and placed in a position that gives a visual into opposing corners

Drew Estell is hands down my favorite person in this industry. The way he communicates things and gets a message across in a no-nonsense way is very appreciated. 👍🏻 DC is killing it with the guests they’re bringing through!

He's 100% on the response time considerations when it comes to rural parts of Kentucky. I've had this issue before. If they're really busy sometimes the police never show up.

First 3 minutes of this earned a sub. I love the PRACTICAL scenario stuff… then the AF1 bit sealed the deal. Keep it up guys, thanks.
