How to Find the Real Zeros of a Function

👉 Learn how to find all the zeros of a polynomial that cannot be easily factored. A polynomial is an expression of the form ax^n + bx^(n-1) + . . . + k, where a, b, and k are constants and the exponents are positive integers. The zeros of a polynomial are the values of x for which the value of the polynomial is zero.

To find the zeros of a polynomial that cannot be easily factored, we first equate the polynomial to 0. Next, we 'guess' one of the factors of the polynomial and then use synthetic division or long division to find other factor(s) the polynomial. After we have obtained the factors and have factored the polynomials, we can then use the zero-product property, quadratic formula or any other applicable property or formula to evaluate the factored polynomial and hence obtain the zeros of the polynomial.

First point; Regardless of your background or what you want to do in life you will have to make your own decisions eventually. We automate a lot these days and rely on others but if we do not have an understanding of how things work we are at fault for our own demise. For instance, credit cards, mortgages, retirement investments, comparing pricing models, life investments, daily budgeting and I am not talking about adding and subtracting but knowing a great deal of how these all work.

Absolutely! I understand your point. At your junction of life this stuff seems useless and to most people that never went past basic math it is useless because they only have a basic understanding of mathematics. I will give you two points that I believe in. An no the first point is not because you need math to add up your grocery bill.

playing the piano. When you start you learn basic chords and notes. However it takes years of practice and patience before you are able to play really fun and entertaining music. I look at math that way. The math you learn in High School is just the tip, of mathematics. Some smarter than me would say my bachelors in math is just a tip. There is so much more for use to learn in mathematics that it saddens me when people say they are never going to use this. It's like saying

Second point is less practical. As a society we need to evolve and to evolve we need to continue to grow. We will never seem to grow if we are not expanding and building of previous ideas. While it may seem easy to say just let the smart people figure out that stuff. Our whole society suffers when we do not have a collective educated society. Yes basic math is fine to know but just think about

You seem like an educated man. May I ask whats the point of learning this type of math? (Not being a smart a**) but I don't understand why people would dedicate their life teaching and learning this stuff. Thanks and good video

playing the piano sucks when you have only learned one song. Of course it does, you really don't know anything but the basics of playing the piano. Well math is the same way. When in high school you only really know enough to apply the basic operations. You are going to only try to connect them to the world you see and their are applications but they are mostly centered around my first point. There is a whole lot of mathematics you don't know that makes everything else make sense.
