Brightline train collides with SUV in Lake Worth Beach

One person is dead after a crash involving a Brightline train and an SUV.

Where I live there is a train track that runs besides a major local highway with multiple intersections and I CONSTANTLY see people sitting either half way on or all the way across the railroad tracks waiting for the light at the intersection to turn green. I just have to shake my damn head and wonder WTF are they

It’s sad that somebody lost their life over this incident but it is just simply unacceptable to try to beat the train.

Time to put cameras at the tracks. The trains probably hit only 10% of those who run the warning lights. A $1, 000 fine for going around a lowered railroad gate should slow this foolishness down. But why aren't they dying on the Tri-Rail tracks only 2 miles away?

brightline train is new to south fl area, people don’t realize the normal freight trains may travel around 45mph the brightline will hit speeds of 70mph so trying to “beat the train is not as easy do risk it to save 30sec

Drivers down here keep thinking they’ll play chicken with the train. What’s more astonishing is that they were able to find a native English speaker in that area… it’s mostly all undocumented Mexicans there. The one killed was probably an undocumented with no license.

As that man said it`s just not worth it. I live within a 1/4 mile of a active rail trains only ..At the crossing they have signs saying DO NOT STOP ON I say to myself how can anyone be so dumb as to need a sign to tell them sense is truly a rare

These trains are fast, and they come up on you fast. Not a good idea to try and beat one. Wait until they start going at speed.

those brightline trains are really short... waiting would probably be 5 minutes.
