I hate to say this but the reporter doesn't know what she's talking about. At the end of the video she says a Brightline train is coming right at that moment. It's an FEC freight train. Regarding the accident: the fire truck was waiting for a freight train to pass. It passed. The crossing gates stayed down. The fire truck drives around the downed (active) crossing gates ... directly into the path of the passenger train. Whoever was driving the fire truck is criminally negligent.

That wasn't a Brightline train at the end but a Florida East Coast freight train.

Obviously the firetruck was in the wrong.

So now we have FD trucks joining in on the Brightline action. I'm starting to feel like i'm the only one that lives here with a drivers license and common sense.

Stop saying the train crashed into a fire truck. The fire truck got in the way of a train. It was careless operation. Never cross tracks unless you're way is clear.

Its unfortunate. Glad everybody is alive. Trucks and Trains can be fixed or replaced. Thank God everybody survived.

Expensive fire engine, raise your taxes because of stupid run around the blocking arms.

It's plain and simple, if the red lights are flashing and the gates are down, you stop and wait. I heard the FD was enroute to an emergency call, but the gates are down, don't drive around them!
When your city is divided by a main line railroad, you need to have emergency resources located on both sides of the track and the track needs to be dividing line of response jurisdictions. I know that's expensive, but this accident will probably cost well over $3, 000, 000 to replace the ladder truck, repair the train engine, and pay all of the hospital bills! Thankfully no one was killed! You can't put a price tag on someone's life! Don't endanger your and others lives, wait for the train!!!
Thoughts and prayers to all that we're injured and affected in any way by this accident! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

All of this could be prevented with simple overpasses or underpasses

Florida ain’t ready for high speed commuter trains. These last few years have proven this….

I’m a firefighter and fan of trains. The 🤡 driving the fire truck is definitely wrong. You was taught in drivers education STOP AT RAILROAD CROSSING WHEN THE GATE DOWN

Traffic arms are down, blocking right lane. Double tracks hets another stupid driver. Put the driver in jail, sue the city.

At the wheel: The Florida - Man of firefighters! (The taxpayer footing the bill for this gross negligence!)

Now the bill will be passed onto the taxpayers

So if the fire truck hit a car they would say the car didn't yield the right of way of an emergency vehicle even though sometimes the car's can't or have nowhere to move to so let's see if they ticket the train conductor for not yielding the right of way to a fire truck emergency vehicle..
