Great showcase and awesome mount for the pad! This year is going to be crazy for 3D Printing. So many options.

I got one of these Sonicpads for Christmas and it has been amazing. not having to constantly swap the micro sd alone was half the value for me. but the speed boost out of the box was really cool and I frequently boost the print speed to 200% with no issues on my ender 3 v2.

I have an Ender 5 Pro that I haven’t used for ages, have been looking at all the X1C, K1 Max and K2 a lot recently. Anyway, I just ordered a Sonic pad to get it back up and running after watching this instead of just buying a Bambu or K1, as I’d rather not let the Ender 5 go to waste!

I’ll probably get a K2 later in the year for the multifilament support and larger build volume.

Yeah I used mine for about a month and was super annoyed that it scratched so easily but there was a plastic film on the screen that I never noticed. The screen itself actually seems to be glass and looks much better once the plastic film comes off. Mine was practically invisible, couldn't tell it was on there.

I'm a bit late to this video, but figured it's worth mentioning here that as of January 2024, the E5S1 can be had for as low as 299 at Microcenter as of this comment, and the SonicPad for ~130. With an afternoon of tuning, i've found the built in profile has accelerations at 5k, but my specimen can handle upwards of 8k with no degradation in quality. (As to quality, Bambu firmware has also improved over the past 10 months too, so the tradeoffs get muddier).
If you want a turn-key printer, it's Bambu. If you enjoy the tinkering and tuning, that's Ender's bread and butter. Both are good buys if they fit your needs/budget.
I have the E5S1 sitting beside my X1C. Both are in constant use, and both are churning out quality prints.

I'm having a Ender 3 V2 with a sonic pad and since this week, a P1P.
Honestly said, the P1P takes the cake.
I've been a creality-fan for a long time, but BambuLabs has taken over.
The Ender does a very good job, no doubt about it, but the P1P does a better job in a much shorter amount of time.
The Sonic Pad is a great addition to the Ender and speeds it up and improves the printquality, but again, the P1P wins again.

Haha I did the same thing on the sonic pad I got it saw all the scratching on it after a week. Then seen a youtube video that said it had a protector on the glass screen for shipment Thanks Creality for making the plastic film invisible. 😂

Amazing video. You forgot to do the input shaping for Klipper, that should remove the ringing on the prints

Hey thanks for the coupon code! B&H had the ED5S1 for $399 but the Sonic is $170. I just ordered off Creality with your coupon for $511 sweet deal! Thanks! I have two Flashforge printers now and I've been looking for a faster open source printer to add to my lineup so I can crank out PLA prints. Really excited about the new set up.

The Ender 5 S1 is now around €200 here at the moment in Europe. Which seems to be a verry sharp price for this machine then. Even thinking buying 2 of them now.

Hi again, I am interested in printing the supports you made to place the pad as you did, but I sliced one of the lateral supports and Cura says it will take around 4hrs, and in your video says you did it in almost 2 hrs.
Any suggestions to improve the time?
Although, I am not yet using the sonic pad, I guess that may be a cause.

Thanks for the video and info. Have the X1c and don't use my other enders as much now but looking at the sonic pad to help reduce the run times. If you remove the sonic pad is the original firmware still on the printer stock board? if not is here a way to back up the original and reload it?

I dunno, at that price with all the modifications, I feel like at this stage it's just better to bite the bullet and get flsun v400, it's just too good out of the box

I'm still relatively new to 3D printing and I got this so that I can send things straight to the printer without the SD Card. I have had issues with the temp I set and slice reverting to a preset on the Sonic Pad. My last print also seemed to stop pushing out filament but kept moving through the print as if filament was still coming out. I check it and it wasn't clogged. Anybody seen this or know of a solution?

5:44 not fair comparison, the left is printed with 0.3mm layer height, the right one with 0.2mm.

Feels like a missed opportunity to truly test the limits of these machines. Who cares about a 15 minute calibration cube when my stock bed-slinging cr10 Smart Pro does it with Marlin? The whole point of Klipper is that you can let any machine loose without much loss of quality, yet you've managed to run the 5 s1 at slower speeds than it can achieve out of the box.

I am running into so many issues right now and I just got the ender 5 s1 sonic pad bundle, there were bed leveling issues and then I have restored to factory settings and recalibrated and Switched out the usb-c cable and it still stops mid print and keeps giving the Klippy shutdown error due to disconnect from mcu, I tried to reset my 3D printer so I can use it with out the Sonic pad and it won’t, when I flashed the firmware to use only the 3D printer and I hit the reheat, the printer Reboots and loops in restarting so it won’t heat if I try to not use the sonic pad
